Sorry to report further carnage today, this time at Market Rasen. Midnight Choice was pulled up on the run-in when in fourth place during a Handicap Hurdle having sustained a fatal injury. RIP.
March 23, 2014 at 17:22 #473014Very sad scenes there.
There seemed to be quite a few youngsters on the rails near the post where Midnight Choice came to a halt, so I hope they won’t be having nightmares tonight.

RIP
March 23, 2014 at 21:04 #473042I heard Midnight Choice haemorrhaged. James Evans is another trainer who seems to really care about his horses.
March 24, 2014 at 09:24 #473066Very sad. Especially on the "Midnight Club’s" second birthday
March 24, 2014 at 19:19 #473102So sad, feared the worst when I heard the commentary, and then even worse when I seen him approach the line.
I hope he didn’t suffer too much.
March 25, 2014 at 14:50 #473194I’ll be seeing Liam next week so can find out more and also pass on our condolences to connections. He really seems to look after the horses he rides and I’m sure he’s pretty cut up about what happened. [He said that it was a heart attack and, although it happened opposite the stands they were very quick to get the screens out etc. Terribly sad, though.]
