B Fifty Two is a massive price compared to Family One. Beaten a length by Dabirsim at Deauville, he also beat Lilbourne Lad over course and distance on fast ground.

    40/1 looks very big.

I like Rebellious Guest as an outsider with a good chance. Mightily impressive in a Windsor minor event last time. A "could be anything". Ran well for a long way in the Coventry before fading late on. Main bet, 14/1 each way looks too big.

Have also backed Bapak Chinta @ 11/2, looked destined for the top earlier in the year. I backed him ante-post for the Nunthorpe  . Stable reports suggest he’s showing the same speed at home.

Also saved on Mill Reef winner Casper Nethcher 5/1. Seems to only just do enough. Like the main bet is from an underestimated yard.

Casper Netscher looks tempting @ 5’1
3’4l behind him in the Mill Reef was Saigon best price 20’1 maybe a little each way

I loved the way Casper Netscher put his head down and raced all the way to the line at Newbury and how he pulled out a little bit more with needing encouragement the second he was aware of the 2nd horse getting to his quarters.

He’s taking a bit of time to develop but now he has got his head in front the French horse and any of the others competing will have to be a bit special to lower his colours.

Can’t see him being out of the frame so a win bet and a place only bet to cover your stake on the machine is probably a very safe bet.

Burwaz has been very disappointing after a good start to his career but there was a massive hint in his last run that he’s finally coming of age. He should finish a fair bit closer to Casper Netscher than he did at York and looks the main danger.

I’ll take the risk on Burwaz at 16 on the machine which looks a huge price and maybe dabble on a RFC

Not a great Middle Park, suspect a slowly run race.
Those who led their respective groups doing best. Casper Netcher didn’t seem to handle the descent into the dip and too far back. Only one from rear to make any ground, and what ground he made. Moral winner and is the one to take out of it (if any).

Hope Bapak Chinta is ok, beaten before halfway, despite one normally with plenty of speed.

Definitely not slowly run, time was under 1.11 so very respectable.

Caspar Netscher never went the early fractions, having been all at sea at Epsom and Goodwood, he clearly needs a flat track. The winner, always in the van, well ridden and was there to be shot at, just nothing could get to him.

1st and 3rd Irish trained, runner-up ran his best races in Ireland, this tends to point to a dearth of quality in the English trained juveniles at this point. Further evidence provided by the result of the Dewhurst.

Crusade was quite impressive and is a beautiful looking horse. Big Black horse.

Maybe Sprint’s will be his races next year….Should go down that route 6f or maybe 7f

You’re right EF, it wasn’t slowly run, but did seem difficult to come from rear. Casper the only one making ground.

There are many with potential to improve next year. Two English trained in particular Fencing and Top Offer didn’t make the Dewhurst (saw them both in the flesh at Newbury). Neither did another Irish trained potential "star" Born To Sea. All three will (I believe) do better than Crusade or Parish Hall. Although latter has a chance to improve at middle distances.

However, the two outstanding two year old colts this season (so far) Harbour Watch and Dabirsim. One

    French

    , one

    English

    trained.

Harbour Watch looked a colt of potential at Goodwood, but potential is all it is, thus far 116lbs is all you can afford him. Given the times that Crusade and Parish Hall clocked today, you would expect them to be allocated more weight in the Free Handicap. Dabirsim will be champion juvenile unless something runs away with one of the backend races.

Caspar Netscher might be suited to the Breeders Cup although I would be concerned about a sharp turn as he is far from straightforward. His best runs have been with a bit of juice in the ground, I felt he was opposable today on account of the going. He is a tough and admirable sort but I cannot see him being easy to place next year.
