(3:30) 31D Michael Purcell Memorial Novice H’dle
(Grade 2) €24,375.00 ( 2m 4f – 5yo+ )1 Hidden Cyclone (JJHanlon) – AndrewJMcNamara 11,08
2 Bishopsfurze (WPMullins) – PTownend 11,06
3 Crash (MHourigan) – DNRussell 11,03
4 Down In Neworleans(121) (MsMMullins) – DEMullins 11,03
5 Pineau De Re (FR) (PFenton) – BTO’Connell 11,03
6 Skorcher (WPMullins) – EMullins(T) 11,03
7 Smokey Joe Joe(116) (KPurcell) – PWFlood 11,01
8 The Pier(118) (JGMurphy) – PCarberry (T) 11,01Nice little race. Hard to see past Hidden Cyclone. If Bishopsfurze got his jumping together he’d be a big threat but I can see him blundering his way out of contention once Andy Mac kicks for home.
February 24, 2011 at 19:10 #342057IC,
Brian Fleming had Bishopsfurze as an 8/11 tissue in the RP, he obviously was out of the country on January 23rd 2011.

February 24, 2011 at 19:45 #342064Hard to believe the morning prices alright. If Hidden Cyclone was trained by WPM and Bishopsfurze was with the Shark it would have probably been:
2/5 Hidden Cyclone
9/2 BishopsfurzeFebruary 24, 2011 at 20:34 #342076IC,
On a slightly different topic, if Oscars Well was trained by WPM, what price for the Neptune?

February 24, 2011 at 21:53 #342084I didn’t see the race so can’t really comment, but is there any grounds for comparing Pineau De Re’s proximity to Hidden Cyclone as opposed to his being trounced by Zaidpour
February 24, 2011 at 22:40 #342096In fairness the track didn’t suit HC, he hit the front too soon, and was being kept up to his work, I wouldn’t take the form too literally.

February 24, 2011 at 23:06 #342103Hidden Cyclone doesn’t strike me as a particularly flashy type. I think only does enough and won that keeping plenty up his sleeve.
Oscars Well would probably be a 5/2 or 9/4 shot if he was with Willie. So Young is as low as 6/1 and he’s beaten nothing of note as of yet. I still like First Lieutenant at the prices and think he’s the forgotten horse of the race.
February 24, 2011 at 23:20 #342106I am an Oscars Well fan, I also backed So Young after Leopardstown. And I take you point and I certainly have not forgotten First Lieutenant, potentially one of the races of the festival IMO.
February 25, 2011 at 16:50 #342169Hidden Cyclone won well in the end and was a good performance. He goes chasing next year so he could make up into a decent RSA sort
