I’ve just heard that Michael O’Brien has passed away. I met him a few times at race meetings over the years and he was a true gentleman. He had some great successes over the years, tho I most of all remember Bright Highway, who did the Mackeson/Hennessey double as a second season chaser and could have been anything before getting injured.
    He will be fondly remembered.

I remember the horse but sadly he must have flew under my radar.

Always brings it home none of us are getting any younger when you see/hear someone from your younger days passes away.

He was Jonathan Sheppard’s go-to rider for a while, was the Champion Steeplechase Jockey of 1972 over here before being injured.
