Big Gossey runs in the 3.05 at the Curragh. I’ve got him at 43/1 on the nose in the Exchange and 33/1 with Paddy e/w :good:

Big G’s baby that one and you’ve got a run for your money there Graham. I’m off out to Ipswich tonight. I walked into the bookies in town earlier and had a quick chat with the man at the counter. I had no idea what tonight’s racing was but looking at the cards it has that lovely summer air about it. What with Cartmel and Salisbury running cards.
I’m heading out the door shortly but may have a peep at the lucky last at Windsor the 2035.
I certainly won’t be posting it late as I’m virtually out the door now. Hopefully there isn’t an odds on favourite but maybe there is sone value laying around there maybe a wee gamble going on taking a look now ……

No bet 8:35 Windsor but here’s a poem that I related to Big G. It’s based on fact with a little artistic licence and involves yours truly in the supporting role. A mate of mine Rannie Ransome lives out in the high ground at the top of the water table at a highly spiritual place called Newbourne. In the old days of the last century swathes of this area was given over to sharecroppers settlers invited into have a better life to work in cooperatives on this very fertile part of the Deben Peninsula there are prehistoric river beds in the clay abd crag and tropical treasures embedded in ancient deposits. I stayed here on my mates plot last summer and after one particularly enjoyable day at Helmingham Hall I accepted an invite to stay over at newbourne and all that t entails ( a trip to the Fox 🦊 pub and a barbecue later ) the air is special here too and refreshed I woke up the next day and penned “The perfect Rose “ I’m talking with other artists about adapting that particular poem into something else sone small form of production. We’ll see .
Any way I wrote this poem The Romany Lady in one go in 45 minutes I hope you like it….

Romany Lady you are so powerful, enchanting and beautiful.
I rise and fall to your mystique.
In your arms I’m so dutiful.
I’m bright but compared to you I’m just a geek.
Your wisdom untapped and your knowledge I seek.
One look in your eyes and I fall at your feet.

I come to you daily, you turn me away.
I’m not like the others, my heart it is straight.

We met in a tempest and you said it was fate.
You said you knew we were meeting, that’s strange to relate.
You turned me down flat when I asked for a date.

You told me my palm and my eyes gave you reason to fear.

I asked what you meant that you should make it clear.
You said “it’s not mine to tell you but you should take care.”
I begged tell me more you cried no you must just leave it there.
This is not your fate but a challenge, you may have to fight.
Just make sure my friend, that you stay in the light.
Always avoid the darkness and keep doing what’s right.
Maybe just once stay by me tonight.
I stayed and we talked deep past the witching hour.
Her senses enhanced we both gazed at the fire.
She’d lit it for me and it rose higher and higher.
Amazing but true I could see a face in the fire.
It screamed out aloud a stark warning for sure
The Romany extinguished before it could say more.
“Why did you do that it was starting to glow.”
You would have heard things that we don’t need to know.
Now we are no longer strangers so come back inside.
I’ve something to tell you I’d like to confide.
Her face it had softened her features more smooth.
All the awkwardness and tension were now removed.
I looked into her eyes they were welcoming and tearful too.
I feel into her arms and we both knew.
Her touch so gentle, so deep tender and true.

The sunlight that morning gave her a start.
She sat up bolt like and sighed you need to depart.
Don’t come back for a couple of days.
I want no one to see you and know of our ways.

Days become weeks and weeks become months.
    She’d gone away and I hadn’t a hunch.
She’d lived in a house then but got back on the road.
It seemed that her burdens on me she couldn’t unload.
She’d left a key and a note to say that she had gone.
She promised me dearly that I’d done nothing wrong.
Find yourself another and I know that I will.
Don’t allow your heart to be broken just go out and chill.
I told you somethings and they were all true
I’d never been in the company of one like you.
There you’ve been told now you don’t have to stay.
Just tidy up the house then just be on your way.
The trouble I warned you of you did fight and you held sway.
But the outcome would have been the same had you just turned and run away.
So think when I tell you there are things we can’t understand
And never forget me I’m still holding your hand.
There are lots we mere mortals don’t know about love ❤️.
But the forces that guide us are deserving of our trust.

    Hi All..
    Andre….
Well done with Tryfan in the last at Salisbury tonight. :yahoo: worth the wait.

Just got back from another stint Babysitting Wilson. Chris, Helen and the girls are on holiday until Monday in the Forest Of Dean in a log cabin with Jacuzzi, barbecue etc they are having fun cycling and canoeing and spending time together.
Wilson has been a very good boy, he gets 4 x visits a day the last one I stay until 11.00pm and then a wake up call with breakfast at 6.00am which Helen’s mum does (thank goodness 🤣) she only lives 2 miles down the road like I do.

Hope you found a few winners today Andre. Luckily I did the 2 x Godolphin horses in a £5 double but didn’tput them in my comps as I was looking at some bigger prices :good:
Here is my Paddy Power bet as proof…

Also had to back Field Of Gold in the Irish 2000 Guineas, he was one of my Reserves in Select 3 horses and I always back all my choices including reserves.. :yahoo:
Wish I’d have had more time to put them up on here but the day flew by.
Luckily I got to watch the racing with Wilson. ❤️ Jac

    Graham…
Was so hoping that Big Gossey would win for you today and he almost did, he always saves his best for the Curragh but you had a nice EW bet on him and 33/1 was an exceptional price. Cannot believe he always goes off double figures. :mail:

    Nick…
I really thought Arabian Dusk was going to do it today I was willing her home to beat Symbol Of Honour even though his winning got my double up. I really love that filly and she ran such a brave race.. I backed her EW around 16/1 with Paddy Power so like Graham I got a good place payout but oh it was sooo close. She’s a real class act. ❤️ and she was my Nap in Select 3 Horses that would have been useful.
Hope you managed to find a few winners today. :good:

You might be surprised that I am taking on Lake Victoria in the Irish 1000 Guineas tomorrow with Swelter – 9/2. and a little EW bet on Duty First – 33/1
Having seen LV last time at Newmarket I thought she looked a bit dull in her coat and lethargic, I think she’s much too short a price. :mail:
    Rev Forecast comby
    Swelter
    Duty First
    Lake Victoria

Best of luck if you’re having a bet.. :good:

Off to get a mug of hot chocolate now and read Sam’s poem. :rose: Jac

I hate using this f’n phone it takes me 10 times longer and I lose everything when I move to another page. I tried later and I had been logged out, just after Big Gossey running. I only found that I had a page open an hour ago and was still logged in.im scared to close it in case I’m logged out again. What an unlucky horse he was today, he must have been blocked off 3 or 4 times trying to get a run. When he did get the space he flew in the last 100 yards. I think he would have won with a run but that’s racing. Thanks Andre, I hope all is well in the land of the orange eejit  Jac that was a great day for you today, well done :good: I got a good return today but still no points on the board. As I said before, that’s racing for you

I don’t get it either Jac, the bookies have a complete blind spot when it comes to BG. 33s and 40s are regular  have they never seen him at the Curragh ?I’m not moaning though, I’ve made an absolute killing with him. Pity he didn’t get his head in front, that 43/1 on the nose would have had me rolling in it. He’s gotta be my fav horse, always gives it 100%.

Such a great poem that Sam, with a touch of the supernatural about it too.

Good luck and stay healthy everyone :good:

I know what you mean about using a phone on the Forum Graham and we both just missed out on celebrating double figure winners yesterday. ..I’ve just looked back two pages and seen that Andre and Family have been in London and visiting Bath and Stonehenge. How fantastic .. Bath is a beautiful City and the Roman Baths are so well preserved, hope you got to visit nearby Longleat if you had time. :rose:

    Darren….
I will take a look at those two Group races in France today and good luck… :good:
Looking forward to the Irish Guineas today I’ve keep feeling there’s going to be a big price winner but then telling myself not to be silly AOB says Lake Victoria is the best he’s ever had. blah blah blah..🤣💤💤💤

    Bring it on Nick :yahoo:

    Darren….
I did look at Dubai Future in the Vimcontesse at Longchamp but in view of the ground I think he might struggle. I do think your Double Major definitely a player. :good:
On reflection I might just go
    EW Dubai Future 4/1
and hope it’s not too soft.

That’s all I”m doing at Longchamp today. :good: Best of luck.

:mail: Has anyone noticed that the leader of the Godolphin Fantasy League has almost 7000 points and has swapped out 45 HORSES :mail:
Not adding up really they must be hanging onto 1 swap for the next 5 months.

I’m locked out of Facebook on my iPad and it’s a complete nightmare because that and messenger are my main way of contacting friends and family. I can still get it on my computer but it’s upstairs and it’s a pain ( literally) to keep going upstairs. May be needing a knee replacement at some point and will really need to be able to use it on the iPad. Mike got locked out of his phone the other day and went to one of those shops that sort it out for you. They say they can sort my iPad out but I’m scared that if anything goes wrong I might lose it on my computer, too. The shop where I got the computer from say that they should be able to transfer everything from my computer onto a laptop but it’s obviously going to be quite expensive. I can’t use a phone as I’d need a magnifying glass to read everything! Not sure how good the security is on it, either. Modern life is a nightmare for a technophobe like me; scared to go to car parks that use Ringo etc.

Oh Moe, what a pain in the neck being locked out. I’ve got Facebook although I hardly ever use it. I remember a good while back I had problems with Facebook and they told me next time I need to log in just touch your photo on the page when trying to log in. I’ve no idea if it will work but maybe worth a try :good:

Like Moe I’m a bit of a technophobe myself. I know the basics but anything tricky I’m back in my cave eating meat 🍖

My problem is that I’m getting access to here on Firefox from when I logged on yesterday afternoon. I didn’t have to log in as it has all been saved. Later on I was on google and going back on to TRF I was asked to login. I put the password I had last used but it was rejected. I then remembered that I had a problem getting in, maybe year ago and emailed Nathan who got a hold of Cormack and he sent me a password to get me back in. I can’t find the email from Cormack and the password isn’t something you would remember. If I move on to anything else on Firefox I’d be snookered, I’d have to log in again which means I would have no access to the site.

There is a “forgot password” and you give your email and you can change your password but I don’t get a return message on my email. Anyone had this problem or any idea how to get round it
    Thanks Graham
