February 15, 2004 at 07:31 #51369Brico,
Well done yet another winner Saturday, what’s the strike rate/ROI to date?
Ollie
February 15, 2004 at 07:40 #51370Ollie,
You caught me on the hop there mate….I was just about to log off when your post appeared.
I make the ROI +10.28/33 x 100 = 31.15%
That’s better than you’ll get at the bank and twice as much fun!;)
It’s not going to make you mega-rich overnight but here are the figures for betting at levels from 27th Nov.
27/11 – 29/11, S/R: 3/3, P/L: +3.03
DEC S/R: 10/13, P/L: +3.77
JAN S/R: 6/9, P/L: +1.34
1/2 – 15/2, S/R: 7/8, P/L: +2.14
The longest losing run has been TWO on the bounce and that has occurred ONCE.
I’m sure if it’s wrong, the masses will correct me…:)

February 15, 2004 at 19:11 #51371Brico,
Well done and another scores today!
Ollie
February 15, 2004 at 23:06 #51372Hi Brico…… just thought I’d bring the RD Staircase up to date….
The original bank of 200pts has increased to 333.12pts. A profit of 133.12pts or 66%, that aint bad considering the prices are crap.
You would have actually shelled out 227pts to achieve that profit so that gives you an ROI of 59%….. at no time was your working bank ever in danger, it would take a straight hammering of 20pts to do that and you didn’t even get within spitting distance of that….
At Levels you are 10pts up and thats good but using the staking plan you would be 25pts up, same horses, same losers, but I know what I’d rather risk my money on…… keep it up mate, its doing fine and well done for continuing through the bad spell…….

MrE
February 16, 2004 at 07:11 #51373Thanks for the update MrE…sounds good (333 pts)..but I remember a "bum twitchingly" difficult time during the long bad patch. Don’t forget that on Dec 13th the banks stood at 331 pts and I was looking for a new pts target of 245 for the working bank, and I’m sure the ROI was amazingly high…then it all, slowly, went wrong.
On Jan 24th the banks stood at 255 pts and I had just been through a sequence of six bets (W,L,W,L,W,L)…and in the words of Jools from the film Pulp Fiction…I had a "moment of clarity".
So all we’ve done is walk down the stairs and back up to the position we were at on Dec 13th…and it’s taken us 2 months to achieve that..
I’m happy with levels for the time being but I’d appreciate it if you could continue to monitor the staircase plan…just to see how much I would have won if I had stuck at it. I must admit though, I sleep a lot sounder in my bed using levels.
What do you think of Dave Jay’s idea on his posting of 1st Feb? Sounds like a good idea to me…
Keep checking in, MrE…and thanks again for the update.
No 3* picks today.
February 16, 2004 at 12:56 #51374Hi Brico, I must agree with you about the standing still for 2 months…. hehehe….. but that really wasn’t the point of the exercise, we wanted a staking plan that would improve profits better than levels with very little risk, what I call "protective staking", well, its working mate ennit……. the problem is and always will be, betting ultra short, your on a hiding to nothing with these sorta prices. I said in earlier threads that I wouldn’t bet much shorter than 8/11 cos two winners at that price would return me 2/1, we shouldn’t be interested in anything less than 2/1 cos its too much like hard work. It might be possible to continue "Rolling" until you get your 2/1, I dunno, I’ll work it out later, but you cannot survive on short prices unless you increase the risk…… I aint had a look at Dave Jays bits yet, but I will do….. I’ve corresponded with him personally some months ago and he knows his stuff, so whatever he says is probably OK, but I will read it later…….

MrE
February 16, 2004 at 20:23 #51376OK, as promised…… if you continue to "Roll" until the 2/1 is reached instead of stopping at the double, the results are as follows…..
Balance… 423.45pts… a profit of 223.45pts….
this represents a profit of 111% … we would have laid out 235pts so the ROI is 95%…..
makes your levels look a bit sick Brico, with prices like this, you just have to take a wider swipe if you wanna make a bit of money, just eking out 2 points a month aint my medicine mate, I just have to make it worth while for all the hard work and 2pts a month doesn’t do it for me….. all power to your wampum……

MrE
February 17, 2004 at 07:52 #51377Point taken…but I will be posting at levels because I think the majority would find it easier to digest. Those that have the b**ls would do well to follow your lead MrE but I wouldn’t recommend big stakes, just in case it really does go "tits up"….and these systems have a habit of doing that, don’t they…

NO 3* PICKS TODAY
February 17, 2004 at 10:38 #51379hahaha, you can say that again Brico, don’t I just know it. I use my own rating method and system on H/caps, I have just had 7 losers on the trot, so yesterday I thought the racing was so bad that it was worth swerving…… you guessed it, missed a 5/1 winner….. hehehe…. bloody horses, drive you crackers in the end, look whats its done to me an Old Urby……

February 17, 2004 at 19:51 #51383:biggrin: @ Matron, but you gotta remember that you shout "Banzai" and not "Bonsai" before you attempt to commit Harry Curry…… hehehehe…..
There was a house in New Orleans, they called the Rising Sun…… now I’ve started bloody singing again, I’m singing that ‘un cos I don’t know the words to "Sukiyaki" although I know it was sung by a guy called Kyo Sakamoto…… there you are…. not a lot of people know that….. lock me up Matron, I’m rambling and doing Michael Caine impressions now…..

Mr….mmmm…. whats that last letter…. oh yes…. E
February 18, 2004 at 07:47 #51384Now all we have to work out is who is the REAL MrE…the person who gives sound advice and reasoning or the "Mad Nutter" running around causing havoc in the corridors…
