Good news folks! In response to an email, Matt Chapman will be having his own website in the near future, called something like Matt Chapman.com, I think. He emphasises "it will not be a tipping service" which only bodes well for its success, though he was in reasonable form on ATR last night and selected a few winners. Membership will be free. I appreciate some people don’t take to his showmanship but even they should acknowledge that he brings a bit of sparkle and razzamataz to the broadcasting world.December 31, 2008 at 06:18 #200554Ken
this is good news
in deed from Matt
I always thought that is would
be an ex-houser
who would bring back
the razzerDecember 31, 2008 at 15:05 #200578Who knows, Gamble? It’s only a matter
of time before we can purchase Matt mugs
and T-shirts, do you not
think? Only jesting. Though I am surprised he’s not in the New Year’s
Honours List.

Given the joke that is the New Year Honours list, I’m surprised he hasn’t been included. Apparently doing your job, at the expense of someone else, now qualifies you for MBEs, OBEs and Knighthoods, with a less-than-fragrant drugs history seemingly no barrier.
December 31, 2008 at 15:32 #200586Matt aside, I think it’s a disgrace that Ken Dodd has, yet again, despite numerous petitions, been denied a knighthood. There should be a public enquiry as to why he is being blocked from this honour. After all, he was found not guilty but someone, some grey figure, is determined to deny him from what he richly deserves.

Who knows ? Maybe his tax evasion case, which ran for three months has deemed him less than fit to receive a knighthood and the revelation at the time that his "diddy men" ( played by stage school child actors) were never paid.
Gambling Only Pays When You're Winning
December 31, 2008 at 16:00 #200594In a match race between a Ken Dodd performance and the complete Ring Cycle by Wagner performed at the ampitheatre at Bayreuth, I’d make the insane composer a 6/4 dog.
A friend of mine was given a free ticket to see the scouse comic one New Year’s Day and his back locked after three hours. I think the honours people are scared of the winners speech.
Agree with you about Matt though. He’s been superb since the er, rest break.
December 31, 2008 at 16:04 #200596Posthumously, John Glashan?
December 31, 2008 at 16:06 #200598That’s precisely the point. He was found ‘not guilty’ of tax evasion but that judgement is not being accepted by the establishment who continue to impose their own sentence by denying him a knighthood. Where is the justice and transparency in that, I ask myself? If he was declared innocent by the jury then we need to know who is blocking his knighthood and why? As for the child actors allegedly not being paid, I have it on good authority that they were given free access to the jam butty mines and could eat as many as they wanted and take home a tickling stick.
December 31, 2008 at 16:30 #200605Did that Tommy Cooper ever get one?
December 31, 2008 at 17:30 #200634I propose that everyone starts off life with a knighthood and then they get removed each new year in a "dishonours" list. That’d be more fun.
