RIP boys
August 20, 2013 at 08:08 #448895doesn’t anybody else find it strange that both these horses died on the same day? anybody has more info on it, where were the owners when this happened?
August 20, 2013 at 13:24 #448908Not heard any more about this. Original report says one died of ‘an equine disease’ and the other died in the paddock after/during a storm. Not sure if they were both trained in the West Country, but don’t know anything about the owners.
August 20, 2013 at 16:08 #448923Update on Marshal Zhukov and Cannington Brook.
Cannington Brook was at home with his owners on his summer break when he managed to tread on a nail. It penetrated the joint and the tendon sheath in his hoof. After 3 general anaesthetics to try to control the infection it was decided there was no chance of recovery.
Marshal Zhukov was back in work with his trainer ready for the coming season. He was turned out each afternoon with his usual friends, and while he was out he managed to fracture his hind cannon bone. It is not known how he did this. His trainer is devastated, as are his owners, who had had both horses since they were three-year olds.
A very sad coincidence for both boys.
