Far be it for me to be over critical of jockeys but WHAT A SHOCKER !! The horse has finished fourth and not had a race!!

I don’t know what race you were watching Raymo???
From my form study for yesterday’s race I found MOH always takes a keen hold in his races and usually races mid-field (needs some cover). Win came in a truly run race which helped him settle. With only one (Ifwecan) out-and-out front runner and one (Tigers Tale) out-and-out tracker – it was always likely to be run in slow early fractions; putting an emphasis on settling, position and speed (being able to quicken). I made four horses “value”, mainly because I felt Man Of Harlech was very poor value considering how the race was likely to be run. Predictably, MOH pulled hard off a slow pace. Might have done a little (only a little) better if gaps appeared in the final 50 yards (unfortunately horses can’t fly!) but no way through. However, Probert had no choice but to ride the horse for luck. Having no time to take the horse to the outer for a clear run after badly outpaced and under severe presure when Ifwecan finally quickened. That’s what you get in slowly run races with horses of MOH’s character.

Personally, I’d be much more inclined to back Man Of Harlech in a race with plenty of pace horses.

    Value Is Everything
