Anybody live there and comment on the going?
July 17, 2009 at 18:55 #239932If I am there I will post an update – it is currently my reserve meeting for tomorrow.
Ripon is my first choice – but looking at the weather reports it looks as though my 2009 weather jinx continues – I see Redcar (another I am planning to go to) is already in serious doubt on Sunday

Oh I`ll be there Paul. I want to win the big race. Just thought to get a bit of advance on the going.

I’m about 40m west of Market Rasen, and it’s hammered down all day; be surprised if the ground isn’t very soft tomorrow.
July 18, 2009 at 11:11 #239988Here’s the oficial verdict this morning :
Hurdle Course – Good, Good to Soft in Places in the Home straight
Chase Course – Good
(GoingStick: Hurdle – 7.6, Chase 8.0 on Friday at 08:00)
4.5mm since declarations including overnight.
Forecast: Saturday – Sunshine and very light showersJuly 18, 2009 at 20:47 #240041What a ride from McCoy.
July 18, 2009 at 21:35 #240046I agree, but I often wonder that, if the horse had been ridden differently during the race there would have been less need for such a strong finish? Sour grapes I suppose, in that he always seems to beat horses that I’ve backed in the process!
July 19, 2009 at 01:19 #240067I envy you folks..
