The RP says of the result:
This looked a fair handicap for the grade, and it was won in convincing style by the well-backed VEGAS BOYS, who was having his second all-weather run. On a good mark now, having dropped 21lb since his peak of 78, he had lost ground at the start in his last couple of races. This time, though, he bounced out, travelled well and, switched right coming off the bend, was soon in command to score driven out. Unexposed on this surface, and on a good mark, he may well follow up
-Amazing how the horse bounced from the gates when the money was down.
-Its other run on the all weather was very bad indeed. I guess it suddenly decided it liked the all weather after all then?
-Some horses always get hampered in the final 2f don’t they?
The problem is you can never conclusively prove a horse has deliberately missed the break can you?
December 24, 2006 at 23:40 #34266
On the subject of fiddling jockeys a quote from an unnamed jockey in the book by sidney harris THE ESSENTIAL GUIDE TO PICKING WINNERS….." IF YOU WANT TO GET A HORSE STUFFED,DO ALL THE STUFFING EARLY ON IN THE RACE-THEN GIVE IT THE BIG FINISH" this advice was to up and coming jockeys!!!!! GREAT,EH ??
I found it interesting to see the jockey D.McKEOWN mentioned earlier on in the thread, i wont back any of this so called jockey’s rides regardless. The word CHEAT, springs to mind (strong claim i know).
