Took a lot of stick for talking about my system of laying probable no hopers but of 120 lays 116 succesful 3 unsucessful (leaving 1 where I stupidly thought I was in the lay market when in fact I was in the back market) is not a bad record and the more I do this the average price of lay is creeping further and further down, below 20 now and I aim to get it below 10 and from there 5 and eventually 2 and below.
Today’s lay was Glacial Rambler who is trained by a lesser light who i have never heard of and hadn’t ran for 570 days. I thought 12 was a good value lay especially as I knew it would be bottomless ground.
Yes I won’t be able to retire on my winnings but so what at this stage it’s just an experiment.
November 2, 2008 at 18:45 #187603I can’t work out why Extra Smooth in the 2.40 at Carlisle is so short this afternoon. Win, lose or draw it has to be a great value lay and I’m not bothered at all if there is money for it.
If the horse was trained by Nigel Twiston Davis I would leave well alone but can C.C. Bealby ready the animal after two years off.
November 4, 2008 at 05:59 #187875Racing will always be my number 1 but it pays to branch out into other areas so I will make another low risk lay on John McCain in the Pres Elect. No problems with liquidity on that market and certainly the biggest lay I have made to date.
November 11, 2008 at 18:56 #189211My low risk laying has a first this afternoon. Yes Programme Girl in the 2.20 at Sedgefield was favourite when I layed it. Win, lose or draw Programme Girl is excellent value for a lay.
November 12, 2008 at 18:50 #189395Win, lose or draw I shall not regret laying Briareus in the 2.50 Kempton, two years off and up against some classy opposition the nag is up against it. Starting to drift so I got in at the right time.
