    2.10 Market Rasen

Lots of improving types, so i could be running into quicksand. But my eye was caught by ULTIMATE at 20/1.

He did some good things last season over fences, winning a 2m half furlong Class 2 at Donny on good off 132 (claimer took seven off) by 8 lengths. Fell at Cheltenham in better race but was handy when he went.
Couple of warm ups on wrong ground. Now heads to MR off 126 with experience, a decent weight, the right ground and trainer who knows the race.
    Nice price, I’ve backed him.
    Opinions? Ginge?
    See you in the poorhouse.

Hate to say this Prof, but you have sound reasons for backing Ultimate today.

Truly, that is a great compliment.

I think I have tempted fate by putting this on here. Still, done him each way.

I just had a decent bet on Artigiano in the first at Newm. Did you see it? I’m putting a brave face on!

    This is a well-named thread.

I had a saver on Laudatory. Picked the wrong Henderson employee!

33/1 is too big for Buck Mulligan, 3.40, Cheltenham, surely?

Stately, plump Buck Mulligan came from the stairhead,
bearing a bowl of lather on which a mirror and a razor lay
crossed. A yellow dressinggown, ungirdled, was sustained
gently behind him on the mild morning air. He held the
    bowl aloft and intoned:
    —Introibo ad altare Dei.
