Just a note for fans of this horse who may be wondering what has happened to him. He is now owned by Stuart Robison and was second in a point to point at Charing on Saturday.
April 13, 2009 at 04:01 #221568…and mostly just plods round nowadays, judged on what I saw at Godstone last term. Or was there a bit more life in the old boy this time?

April 13, 2009 at 12:05 #221583Nice to know he`s still around, remember him putting in the most extraordinary round of jumping or should i say non jumping in the national a few years back.
April 13, 2009 at 12:36 #221588That element of his game still hasn’t been rectified entirely, DG – on a bad day he still jumps as if his legs have all been tied together. But the heart is still very much willing, and the Robinsons are good people who can give a horse every chance to prolong its career in carefully managed terms, as they did with Struggles Glory previously.

April 13, 2009 at 15:15 #221623Remember seeing him jump foot perfectly in the great Martell Reserve Novices Hunter Chase (the race after the National) a few years ago – was an absolute caining of at least one useful opponent.
Great horse
April 13, 2009 at 15:36 #221627There’s a photo of him [well, a bit of him] on the http://www.uk-jumping.com site that The Young Fella told me about [and a very good site it is, too].
April 13, 2009 at 20:27 #221698I saw him take a crashing fall at Godstone last year.

You’re right Jeremy, it was a moderate race, and he just kept plugging away at one pace, maybe retirement is the best option, but as you say the Robinsons are good people who love their horses and will do what is best by them.
