Why is Apple’s Jade Evens? This is a pretty good race and she was quite flat in the CH, to say the least.
Well done Final Furlong and Ginger, that was some finish. I think you’re being a
little hard on Apples jade Ruby, I think her form warranted her being favourite, and I
wouldn’t have argued with evens. If she had got over whatever ailed her last time out,
she had the best form coming into this. Okay, she did get beat, but she put up a decent
show and went down in a fighting finish.Okay, she did get beat, but she put up a decent
show and went down in a fighting finish.True BigG, but I think she is a bit overrated at the moment. When she was good in the spring it was either against her own age or her own sex. Now, running against the bigger/older boys it is a different story. And I also think today’s race came a bit too soon after the below par run in the CH.

Of course it could’ve come a bit soon after Cheltenham – or something might have been wrong there. But she had won at Aintree in previous years after running at Cheltenham… And she’s already beaten big/older boys in Ireland… And not just beaten them but thrashed them by many many lengths in Grade 1’s. Yes, people did innitially over-rate those performances; but – make no mistake – her form is way ahead of all rivals today… It’s just she isn’t firing at the moment – jumping right and not going through her races with the usual fluencey… yet tried her very hardest to remain in front. Corageous girl.
Had AJ come here in form she’d have been 1/3 to beat these. Don’t be too hard on her.
