I believe before he scaled down his operation he had a horse called Bloomers.

If I remember rightly, he was advertising not so long ago for a trainer/someone to rent the yard.

it was a while back i recall, 2 or 3 years ?

if i remember rightly he was retiring possibly for health reasons, hope all is well as i enjoyed looking out for his horses – trousers, pants, manic, mad, depressed, certifiable, eccentric, etc – great names and eccentric made me a good few quid when it started winning lots and i remember having some other decent returns with his horses

Little Knickers is actually out of Pants!

His health is ok. The reason he tried to get someone to run the operation is that he has another career as a deputy high court costs judge and is also senior partner in the Mayfair firm of solicitors Reid Minty.
Since Ernest Oertel left after an unsuccessful spell he has not managed to find a replacement so he renewed his licence last August.

t is the only racing stable with a London post code and Eccentric would have been the best horse he trained, won a winter Derby..

At one stage there was talk of Dandy Nicholls using it as a satellite yard for his southern runners but it never materialised

Amy Weaver assistant to Michael Bell is joining Andrew Reid as assistant trainer and hopes to take over the licence this summer.
