Broke a front leg when ploughing through the fence in the Topham. RIP.
April 5, 2013 at 14:55 #435256Oh no!!! Saw his name and hoped it was a mistake. Gutted

April 5, 2013 at 17:45 #435287I’m gutted as well … just back from Aintree and didn’t know about this. He seemed quite a charactor – I was near the exit to the paddock, inches off him when he tried to dive off to the racecourse long before he had his jockey on board. He was full of it … poor boy RIP Little Josh
BBC web page: He suffered a fractured shoulder and was later put down by veterinary surgeons following treatment.
April 5, 2013 at 17:50 #435288What terrible cruel luck; he was travelling so well. A real favourite of mine. Goodbye Little Josh
April 5, 2013 at 17:57 #435293little josh was one of my favorite horses.i was so relieved when he wasnt running in the grand national and now this has happened.i am in shock and buckets of tears.so sorry for the twiston davies family as sam loved him.please lets hope there are no more on here tomorrow .
rip little josh my brave boyApril 5, 2013 at 18:36 #435303Yes, it’s very sad as he was really going well when he got the fence all wrong and just went straight through it.
Does anyone know if Bhaltair is okay? He broke down in the 5.05 at Sedgefield, but he wasn’t in view on screen when the commentator said he’d been pulled up.
April 5, 2013 at 19:41 #435317Just heard this on the news tonight, was hoping that no more would go today and now my old favourite brave Little Josh has gone
put a huge downer on tomorrow for me.
I couldn’t watch Sprinter Sacre run in the Melling as I remembered what happened to One Man and was so pleased that he won and came home safe with Cue Card and all the others.
Now another Aintree favourite has gone and had he qualified for the Grand National he would still be with us and running tomorrow.
What more to say…RIP you brave sweet boy, condolences to all those who loved you so much
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 5, 2013 at 22:19 #435355Yes; it was a day for closing my eyes at each fence [memories of One Man and Strong Promise]. Please let the Commander come back safe tomorrow. Sam is such a nice lad, and he’s had so many good days at Aintree; rotten for him to have this happen.
April 6, 2013 at 11:48 #435491Oh poor lad, what a terrible shame. I thought his fall looked a bad one but as nothing was said about injured horses I assumed he’d got away with it. So unlucky.
RIP Little Josh
April 7, 2013 at 07:27 #435632It was reported on tv … and a statement from Aintree/vet read out …
