Died after finishing second in a listed chase at Auteuil today.
Awful.
June 29, 2021 at 18:56 #1548466That is very sad to hear. He was a tremendous horse who gave his all every time he ran.
Condolences to his connections.
June 29, 2021 at 19:09 #1548468Any idea why he changed stable twice in a few months? Wasn’t aware he had left Neil Kings.
June 29, 2021 at 19:16 #1548470Oh no, he will be missed so much.
June 29, 2021 at 19:20 #1548471Gutted to see this, he was a real favourite and never knew when to give up.
Looks odd, he has change of owner/ trainer listed as being today, to Andrew Hollinshead?RIP Rocky, you deserved a long and happy retirement.
June 29, 2021 at 19:46 #1548475Real tragic news, feel very sorry for him.
I think he moved to Andrew Hollinshead, since Tom George’s three month licence for France expired. But this is so tragic.
May he rest in peace.
Note: Very poor from the RP not to mention him at all, so far.
June 29, 2021 at 19:52 #1548477Thanks Ruby.
I’m assuming the move to Tom George was simply so he could run in France. An understandable move considering he earned over €20k for coming second today.
He was so versatile, so tough and so brave. He didn’t deserve this but then no horse does.
June 29, 2021 at 21:12 #1548488I am so sad to see this boys name here today. He was such a grand horse. What happened to him? RIP 😢
June 29, 2021 at 22:32 #1548489RIP Lil Rockefeller
Sad to see his name here today.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...June 29, 2021 at 22:32 #1548490Surprised and sorry to see his name here. He was a hardy wee nailer.
June 29, 2021 at 23:01 #1548500So sad. Ran his usual game race to finish 2nd in the listed raced at Auteuil but then suffered a heart attack. Almost inevitable that a horse that gave his all so many times fought for one last time. One of my all time favourites. R.I.P.
June 29, 2021 at 23:33 #1548506Desperately sad news. Lil Rockerfeller was as brave and versatile as they come. He won over half a million pounds and never fell (just the one unseat) in his 50-race career. Following on from the recent loss of Top Notch, Jumps racing has lost two of its toughest and most durable stars in quick succession. RIP Lil Rockerfeller
June 30, 2021 at 19:02 #1548561Really sad to see his name on here. I saw him win on my first visit to Sandown back in 2015 and was taken then by his wonderful attitude to racing. Gave his all every single race no matter the opposition. I feel a bit similar to when Many Clouds passed away. Racing gives you so much joy and its wonderful horses like Lil Rockerfeller that do it for me.
RIP fella…you won’t be forgotten.
