Never done lay beting before put your thread has both confused me and intrigued me. I understand all your picks etc but is’t the first bit of the thread that I don’t get, not saying you didn’t explain it well I’ve just never seen this type of thing before! Could you please elaborate on what this bit means?

    "
FIRST LAY BET £100 AND ODDS OF .67 WITCH WILL COST U £67 IF IT WINS
SO JUST SAY THE FIRST BET HAS WON IT HAS COST U £67
SO THE SECOND BET YOU NOW NEED TO WIN £200
JUST SAY THE ODDS OF THE SECOND HORSE IS .50
SO YOU HOW HAVE TO LAY IT FOR £267 WITCH WILL COST U £133.50 IF IT WIND
SO NOW JUST SAY THE SECOND HORSE HAS WON IT HAS £133.50
SO ON THE THIRD BET YOU NEED TO WIN £300
JUST SAY THE THIRD HORSE IS .50
YOU NEED TO LAY IT FOR £500.50 THIS ONE LOOSES NOW YOU HAVE WON £300"

Also what are good sites for laying horses? Don’t think I’ve seen the option to do it on paddypower but then again I’ve never looked out for it.

    Thanks in advance.

You lay horses on betfair or betdaq

The bit you quoted means that if one of the horses wins then kenny ups his stake in the next race to try to win back the money he lost on the first race. If the 2nd horse wins, then he ups stake again in the 3rd race etc etc until eventually one of the horses losses

This is known as chasing your losses and you will end up in the poor house eventually

Thanks a lot for the response David, I understand that completely now, learnt pretty early on not to chase my losses, treat each race/day like its a new one and never change your stakes or bankroll management out of tilt!! I think playing poker has helped me with this.

I don’t have the money to be following this system but if it’s working for kenny then fair play to the man you gotta do what works for you!

Will probably give laying horses a try though because there’s been a few times when I think the short-priced favourite won’t win due to being overhyped/overrated but have no idea who’s going to beat it. I can see it being a dangerous game though (just like betting on the short-priced favourites) but can imagine being profitable as long as you pick your spots don’t ‘over-do’ it.

Just go easy on the bet. Remember, taking it slow beats everything. Especially when we are new to the game.
