    Firefox 9-4

Bit surprised he isn’t shorter as the Ballymore second fav. No Ballyburn to beat again here.

Wasn’t much between him and Ile atlantique in bumpers

Just down to who handles the going better

And who has come forward the most since

    “Firefox wont stay”

I’d be a bit surprised if that is the case. They made plenty of use of him last time coz trainer feels he gets further. I’m expecting more patient tactics Sunday.

Sprinted away from a stayer lto, hes very speedy, will & could win plenty of races over 2m4, but this wont be one of them, suspect gordons trying to find his ballymore horse, im surprised jack didnt choose croke park, has a far better chance imo

Not saying firefox cannot win this mike, but imo he’ll look like winning before fading into 3rd or 4th

Nice race though plenty in this to pay attention to regards to later in the season

Good chance the AB winner comes from this race with the staying on croke park or CDS, suspect one of them will be outright fav come sunday evening

Croke park would’ve been better suited by the grade 2 at limerick over Xmas

I’d be happy with a place from him here with a view to the bartlett

Firefox is a very good horse but the price does reflect the uncertainty about him staying in this Grade, on this ground.

If all 8 stand their ground this is up there with any race the Festival will muster.

I’m not sure they are good enough but Chapeau De Soleil and An Tobar shouldn’t be lacking for stamina if that’s what is required. All depends where the pace is coming from.

CDS’s grand dam was third in the National Hunt Chase and through the mare Ballyvooney is related closely to the 3/4 brothers The Tullow Tank and Many Clouds. CDS may need to be going over further still to be seen to his best in this sort of company.

An Tobar is from a proven 3 mile Grade 1 winning family and again has notable extreme distance stayers in his family such as Ms Parfois.

If it’s a dawdle up front then this probably won’t suit either of these.

This is a good race and I’m happy to split my dough with Croke Park at 9-1 and Mystical Power at 12-1

The ballymore trial between il atlantique, Firefox, mystical power and An Tobar

Then the bartlett trial between croke park, lecky Watson and Chapeau du soleil

Annoying that by the time this runs on friday now its for me has been injured and mystical power will now swerve it for the moscow flyer, not that i thought he had much of a chance here personally i dont think he will win the moscow flyer either and would have been better suited to this

I’ll try An Tobar at 6-1, I liked his run in the Royal Bond over a trip at least half a mile too short, with no pace on as Danny Mullins was pulling the back teeth out of his horse to turn it into a sprint for the stable first string. The form has worked out OK too.

Very frustrating having been on ile atlantique @3/1 & 11/4 to be left with him at 7/4 after a void bet, but thats how it goes, he will win this imp but 7/4 isnt a price id be taking on him

As per my first post, i fancied lecky watson to finish jn the frame when there was 8 runners, but hes now the same price with 1 less place now that MP has swereved

So ill be giving it a miss and sitting with my finger on the cheltenham trigger as this race is going on for the AB & the ballymore

An Tobar is 9/1 right now which makes a lot of sense to me.
