Very strong looking entries for this, as decent as I can remember.
The big guns all represented, but after a few poor efforts, it was much more like it from Suprise Package at the weekend.
I’d expect him to come on again for that, a previous Imperial Cup Winner, and looks nicely treated. Hopefully get some positive news from connrctions, though the Leopardstown Meeting will surely be tempting as well. Itching to start chipping away at 33’s
Edit – Took the 33’s, but Non Runner
December 17, 2024 at 10:07 #1715587Premier two mile handicap hurdles are my most loved races and many of my favourite horses look set to line up. I won’t be having an antepost bet but if the ground is on the ‘good’ side I will have a stab at Our Champ. I have a soft spot for front runners and i think Ascot suits that type.
December 17, 2024 at 12:34 #1715591Backed Salver 20s ew a few weeks back.
December 17, 2024 at 14:28 #1715593Go Dante 16-1 each way for me
December 17, 2024 at 16:28 #1715603It’s the same for me ss, although I’ll just go win only
December 18, 2024 at 07:58 #1715625Our Champ for me at 40-1 ew
December 18, 2024 at 08:23 #1715632I’m another who likes Go Dante, but I’m going to wait until the weekend. I think that he’ll run very well
December 19, 2024 at 01:03 #1715675Fiercely Proud for me. He’s around 20-1 just now, so that’s my ew selection just now
December 19, 2024 at 13:37 #1715693I’ve caved and back the two outsiders. Our Champ as mentioned in my earlier post at 33s and Tritonic who is a real Ascot lover. He hasn’t ran here over hurdles since winning this very race as a 4 year old, 3 years ago now. He’s 6lbs lower in the ratings but I’m hoping the track will bring him back to life and 40s is a fair price.
December 20, 2024 at 15:15 #1715785This was all about Suprise Package for me, but I’ll join you TYT, with small interest on Tritonic
The 66’s was a small extra
Tritonic EW5Pls/66’s
December 20, 2024 at 16:45 #1715799Be Aware ew 5 places
December 20, 2024 at 19:45 #1715817Plumped for Fiercely Proud 18s, win only.
Best of luck to all
December 20, 2024 at 22:19 #1715847Very strong edition of this race! Be Aware had a little bit too much to do in the Greatwood. This finish at Ascot should suit him better.
Be Aware 11/2
December 20, 2024 at 22:21 #1715849Our Champ for me, but sadly at half of your 40-1 Jeff, that’s a lovely bet
December 21, 2024 at 09:17 #1715915Don’t normally back two but there are two from my Ten to Follow, Steel Ally who will probably get chased down this time and Go Dante.
The more I know the less I understand.

Added
Our Champ 25s
The Gordon ‘team’ got me a nice winner yday in King William Rufus.
👍December 21, 2024 at 15:33 #1716000Our Champ e-w 22/1 1/5 odds 4 places. Decent at this level and although he’s more exposed than some I can’t believe the price.
