Gone for Shelford although think Bayan will go well.
Aaargghhhh
December 20, 2014 at 15:41 #499070Clondaw Court one of the first beaten. I backed Bayan at Cheltenham and Galway but thought the ground would be against him today. Great to see Condon with a big winner after his serious injury.
December 20, 2014 at 15:47 #499071Another Pricewise winner. Some boy.
December 20, 2014 at 16:17 #499076I’ve no complaints, Pine Creek ran a cracker and STD always had him in the right place. I thought for a minute he was going to get up, but the winner deserved to keep his head in front. I’m glad I grabbed the 20/1 yesterday, gambled into 10/1 there was a lot of confidence in him.

"Having been to Galway and witnessing the competitive nature of the handicaps there I cant help having a lump on Bayan."Well done Jibsa, hope you lumped on well.
December 20, 2014 at 17:13 #499086Well done to the backers of Bayan.
I felt Shelford got involved in a battle to get ahead of the front running Balgarry and a couple of times he was on the verge of getting there, untidy jumps led to him dropping back and having to set after the trailblazer again. Although eventually getting ahead of the Pipe horse it looked like he’d used up too much energy to hold off the closers and he ultimately did well to hold fourth. A more sedate pace back at two and a half miles may suit him better.
Shelford looked really small compared to Balgarry, who has an impressive physique and would surely be worth a pop at the bigger obstacles. How he will perform on his next start will be interesting to note.
Still only 1 win from 9 starts over the sticks for Clondaw Warrior and I maintain the belief that his improved flat form has not translated to the jumping game.
Activial performed with great credit given his age and inexperience and I would make him the horse to take out of this race for next time.
Pine Creek was a horse I thought might be going places last year but he became disappointing. This was much more like his early promise.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
December 20, 2014 at 17:43 #499091Really tough performance from the winner. Never really travelling but kept on finding for pressure.
December 20, 2014 at 18:17 #499093Some good performances given the pace and the ground – a few here hitting the crossbar. Well done Bayan backers – anyone picking the winner of that deserves to take a lengthy bow.
