Golden Pal…
He won yesterday’s 5 1/2F “Shakertown Stakes” at Keenland in tremendous fashion. They had lots of rain the last few days and the course was rated as “Good”, but his sectionals were exceptional given the conditions. Here’s the link, Race #8:
April 10, 2022 at 14:13 #1592784Thanks for this – impressive.
Is getting beat on both previous trips to the UK a concern?
Could it be he doesn’t travel well?

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"April 10, 2022 at 15:54 #1592822Could be that Ian
Or could be he is much better going round a bend
He’s looked almost unbeatable in most of his runs in the USA, race over after 100 yards
April 10, 2022 at 16:20 #1592839Good questions, Ian. I don’t believe there are any excuses for his two losses, and W. Ward didn’t offer any either. He lost fair and square both times. But as FF points out, could be that he prefers the bends to stiff 5F’s at Ascot or York…
April 10, 2022 at 17:49 #1592861nature strip got an RPR of 132 on heavy a week ago, i’d like to see him take golden pal on at ascot
golden pal was going 45mph at one point at york so maybe he ran inefficiently
April 10, 2022 at 18:07 #1592863I think York’s 5f is very flat, hence a relatively easy five.
Ascot is more on the collar and a tougher test.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"May 31, 2022 at 18:12 #1599910The British and irish runners look a very very average bunch here
I really can’t see anything I’d like to take the international raiders on with
Maybe a case of you though it sounds like he will run in the 6f race
May 31, 2022 at 23:42 #1599930My favourite race of the Meeting.
Twilight Calls 16/1 EW
Denied a clear run in his last two starts he would have beaten King Lynn last time out.Arecibo 40/1 EW
Always underestimated and he does tend to boil over before his races but if he brings his A Game on the day he should make a place at decent odds.Best of luck to all

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...June 7, 2022 at 19:32 #1601160I’m so excited for this horse I can’t even tell you. He’s the best I’ve ever brought to Ascot in all these years, and I’ve brought some good ones, but this guy is the fastest of the fast.
“He’s really matured from last year to this year mentally and physically he’s gotten bigger and stronger, as any horse would from three to four, but he’s just a pure athlete and this is his year.
Ward sounds as bullish as ever
June 8, 2022 at 14:33 #1601247I must confess to having taken a bit of 3/1 Golden Pal a few weeks ago.
He’s a confirmed entry and he’s shortened up, but it looks a competitive race to me.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"June 8, 2022 at 16:00 #1601263I’m expecting people to take him on on the day
So am hoping to get close to that 3/1 on the exchange on Tuesday
The horse owes me nothing after his two breeders Cup romps so happy to row in with him in what looks a very weak bunch of uk and ire sprinters
He’s probably 1/20 to be in front after 100 yards, the question is whether Irad can get him over the line
He’s almost too fast for ascot, a bit like battaash was in his younger days
June 8, 2022 at 16:10 #1601264It’s a stiff five at Ascot – unlike Goodwood and York.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"June 8, 2022 at 16:17 #1601267Yes that’s why I think he might get bigger on the day
All the “tipsters” will be against him and can see a drift happening
If there was a 4f race he’d be the best in the world
June 8, 2022 at 17:06 #1601272The fact that he’s been beaten on both runs in the UK must be of some concern.
Maybe he’s not a good traveller? 🤷♂️
June 8, 2022 at 17:22 #1601275I thought he ran very well in the Norfolk really considering the rain came and he was a huge drifter
I’m pretty sure he was like 3/1 a couple days before that race and went off 12/1
He did blow out in the Nunthorpe though which is a track that should’ve suited him on ground that should’ve suited him
June 8, 2022 at 18:00 #1601280Needs an easier five, a bend, and to be in his own back yard – I’ve got blinding value with my 3/1!

Maybe a no bet and just watch would be sensible
