October 28, 2018 at 08:52 #1378911They say no news is good news but in this case it’s not looking good.
If he were alright, I’m sure we would of heard about it by now
hoping for the best stillGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
October 28, 2018 at 09:00 #1378912Dreadfully sad news which seems to have been confirmed that he was in his Helicopter which had just taken off after a Leicester City match. It came down in the car park so not sure if any other casualties.
Have been following his horses with interest and as you say folly this could hit racing hard.
RIP Mr Srivaddhanaprabha and condolences to your family.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 28, 2018 at 09:15 #1378913There will be other casualties, those in the helicopter with Mr.Srivaddhanaprabha and on the ground
RIPThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 28, 2018 at 11:09 #1378916Five people confirmed dead including Mr Srivaddhanaprabha and his daughter, plus 2 pilots and another, as yet, unidentified person. Very sad day for football and racing.
October 28, 2018 at 13:08 #1378926According to “Reuters”, Mr. Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha was travelling with two of his daughters.
Terrible accident.
October 28, 2018 at 14:46 #1378931Very sad news, hearts go out to all the families involved.
All comers, all ground, all beaten
October 28, 2018 at 16:42 #1378940I know it makes no difference but I am originally from Leicester and this is a disaster for the city and the football club as well as his racing connections

I know people that work at the ground and he was an unassuming man who had a massive hand in the unbelievable success in winning the league.
At a time when we think of all the success and wealth these people have it ought to be kept in mind that this man was a father and husband as well as a benefactor and our thoughts are and should be with his family on this sad sad day
October 29, 2018 at 06:51 #1378976Looks like “Reuters” information was wrong yesterday:

October 29, 2018 at 09:08 #1378980I wasn’t sure which horses he owned. What a tragic loss of what was one of ‘the good guys’. Kind and generous to a fault from what I’ve read; gave so much to Leicester hospitals etc
October 29, 2018 at 16:41 #1379005@Moe
He owned a lot of horses that carried the name of Power such as King Power by Frankel a now 2yo filly that cost him quite a lot in the sales and ran unplaced on Saturday, also Queen Power, Happy Power, Aim Power and I believe he had up to 67 horses with various trainers his most famous at present being Beat The Bank.I had only just started to notice King Power racing looking through my new 2yo book last April and seeing how many horses he had purchased and placed with trainers like Richard Hannon and Balding. I think this will be a serious blow to the racing industry as he was really just starting to build up a nice stable of horses and you could see how much he was enjoying the sport.
Such a terrible tragedy for Leicester City Football Club to lose such a generous sponsor, not just to them but to the local community. A relief that his daughters were not on board as first suggested but a sad sad day for sport in general and yet a blessing is that the helicopter managed to come down in a disused car park so close to the Stadium it could have been a major disaster.
Again all thoughts with the family of this kind generous man a sad loss to our sport.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 29, 2018 at 22:31 #1379048I didn’t hear it myself but Mike tells me that there was talk of cancelling Diwali, but his family said he wouldn’t have wanted that. And that, if he wasn’t at the football he let people from the hospital use his suite; also gave out season tickets to people who couldn’t afford one. It’s just not fair.
November 10, 2018 at 14:13 #1380207Lovely for King Power to get a winner on TV on the last day of the flat. Well done Doyle, great ride.
November 10, 2018 at 14:56 #1380214Well said Nausered.
Did you see the rainbow before the off at Donny? Vichai was looking down today.
Well deserved win and as you said great ride by James Doyle on an emotional day for the family.Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...November 10, 2018 at 19:10 #1380259One of the few days when I actually cheered backing a loser (Hey Jonesy).
Sometimes life does the right thing!!
And Andrew Balding obviously held the man in high regard as he was filling up when interviewed.
November 10, 2018 at 20:55 #1380263A result which nobody should begrudge that sprinkles (for a short time anyway) a little joy & light during a dark time for the family & friends of the man.
Seems nobody has a bad word to say about him and that is a testimony in of itself – it wasn’t just the football club he transformed but also the city and the racecourse as well, a man who didn’t do anything in short measures.
He has left a lasting legacy, which hopefully his children can continue on his behalf.
