Only real bet today is Subjectivist at 25/1 ew 5 places (though no doubt I will do a few small ones watching the racing on tv as well).

Mark Johnston has won this race 5 times in the last 18 years and clearly targets this race. That’s a very impressive record when you see how competitive these big field handicaps are.

The easing ground is in Subjectivists favour, he is almost certainly well handicapped, will improve as a 3yo as he was quite tall and gangly as a 2yo and will have filled out his frame and strengthened up, he will improve for the step up to this trip, couldn’t ask for a better jockey on board with Ryan Moore up, 9 of the last 10 winners had a double figure draw so stall 15 is a plus. Johnston has 3 horses entered but for me this is by far and away his best chance here.

Plenty to like about him and looks well worth a go at 25/1 with 5 places.
