I love Allaho , never denied it , but I was impressed with Bravemansgame and expect him to be cherry ripe for the KG , if Allaho turns up 90% ( Cheltenham is his ultimate goal ) then we,ll have a race , Allaho is top class but he,s not going to improve , Bravemansgame might yet do so , as I said could be a classic as I can see BMG attacking Allaho late on
October 30, 2022 at 09:39 #1620949Opinions make the game, HDLG, and I like Bravemansgame too.
But I’m surprised he is as short as he is as, for me, he simply ran up to the best of his previous form yesterday.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"October 30, 2022 at 09:42 #1620951Potential plus the trainers form in the race , he might be skinny but the 2s in the Charlie Hall yesterday looked huge 3 out
October 30, 2022 at 09:57 #1620954Allaho was rated 160 at the start of his first open year.
“Bravemansgame 161 won by three and a half from Eldorado Allen (who was conceding 3lb) 162 with 10yo Sam Brown (conceding a pound) 157 a further half a length away in third – they’ve all more or less run to their marks.”
Allaho beat the 157 rated Janidil 2 lengths on seasonal reappearance last year. No point in winding them up tight for it.
Of course the difference is that the older horse has proved that he can run to high 160s/170s on several occasions and BMG has not and probably never will achieve Allaho’s high water mark. But…Allaho is unlikely to show his best at a tight right handed track. Would he be good enough anyway? Probably- go out and win it like a classier version of the way Frodon did it- control from the front slightly off the rail and use the slight left jumping tendency of the horse to his advantage, protecting the rail area 2-3 horse widths instead of one and forcing everyone else to come round. But…if one horse travelled and jumped well enough to keep tabs just behind and tight on the rail, one slight mistake from Allaho either overjumping and pitching a little on landing and needing scooped up, or correcting left and clipping the top slightly- either of those could result in him being slowly away off the back of a fence and leave just enough room for a waiting Cobden to get a great leap out of his horse, steal the gap and game on! make it a galloping jumping test to the finish. Allaho might get a proper race anyway.
October 30, 2022 at 10:00 #1620955One major flaw in your theory, GAG: Nicholls, speaking after the race yesterday, stated that Bravemansgame doesn’t like being crowded.
I highly doubt that they try to hug the inner, even if Allaho does jump left during the race. I’ve just watched a replay of his Punchestown romp and, although he does go slightly left at a couple of fences, it’s hardly a marked tendency.
October 30, 2022 at 10:08 #1620956The RPR seem to think Allaho’s career best was round Punchestown (right handed) last time out.
Both Ryanairs and that were mighty performances and he’s still an 8yo, rising nine.
He’s only had 17 races his entire life too.
On Saturday morning, he’d have been conceding 16lb to Bravemansgame in a handicap and unless the BHA assessor wants to give Eldorado Allen and Sam Brown career bests I can’t see much changing on Tuesday.
2/1 and 9/4?
Hmmm.

October 30, 2022 at 10:19 #1620959Didn’t know that Glad thanks. It’s a pity as if “beat Allaho” is the mission that’s one of the few ways I can think of to do it but it would require a brave horse and jockey to seize the moment. Horses really do make it interesting for us.
Hmmm…what other nefarious plans could I consider if I was in Nicholls war cabinet? Get BMG and maybe Hitman (or whatever) to man mark Allaho behind the tapes to keep him off the rail, get Bryony to grab the rail and kick old Frodon into as fast a gallop as his little legs will carry him and try to out-Allaho Allaho and hassle him for the first half of the race before Frodon folds and moves out of the way like a Coolmore 10f pacemaker in the Leger peeling off. One of the times Allaho was beaten in the past was when he and Minella Indo goaded each other round the RSA and Champ beat the pair of them.October 30, 2022 at 10:23 #1620962Lol GG you should pass the on to Nicholls , seriously I doubt anything would be able to head Allaho , it’s if BMG can stay within striking distance , I’ve no doubt BMG would outstay him , people think Kempton is a easy 3 miles …its not you have to stay and Allaho is best at slightly shorter
October 30, 2022 at 10:35 #1620966I’m sure Frodon’s owner would love that idea.

He was only 5 in the Albert Bartlett- the only 5 year olds to have won that were 33-1 chance Very Wood when over half the field failed to complete including the fav and 2nd fav who fell, and second season French trained horse Moulin Riche having his 14th start and 2nd visit to the festival.
The difference the age gap makes is less the the RSA but still, he was a huge lanky horse less physically developed than Champ or Minella Indo.
You can put a line through his only start over 3 miles in open company, he didn’t travel a yard and was beaten 2 out.
October 30, 2022 at 10:45 #1620969Err, Allaho won the Punchestown Gold Cup over 3m1f by 14 lengths last time out.

Frodon is rising 11. He might win at Down Royal if he’s very lucky, and probably the Oaksey. He’s not fast enough now to muddle the pace and sprint finish so he might as well go all out.
October 30, 2022 at 10:55 #1620981The horse is in a different ownership to Bravemansgame so I doubt whether the owner would sanction the horse being ridden, if it runs, any way other than what suits it best.

I know he is another year older but he likes this race and has never seen 25/1 against his name, ever
His biggest starting price ever was 12’s for this race, beat Thistlecrack
He’s a bigger price than Shishkin lol
Plenty ahead of him in the market that won’t runBlackbeard to conquer the World
October 30, 2022 at 11:02 #1620984I don’t remember Nicholls mentioning “the Obeaux” in that list of horses BMG is allegedly as good as yesterday – everything happens for a reason.
Ok, “The Clanster” never won a Charlie Hall – but….just saying!
Don’t diss “The Des!”

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"October 30, 2022 at 11:04 #1620987He’s injured Nathan and its ridiculous any bookies have him priced up
Nicholls said: “Unfortunately Clan has suffered a minor setback which will keep him out for the first half of the season.
“We hope that he might be back for the spring to have another go in the Bowl at Aintree as he loves it around there.
