Can’t see Mullins running Allaho here. It will be the same route as this season: John Durkan, Thurles and then beat up second raters in the Ryanair.

Yep, he doesn’t change a winning formula. Also the horse is slightly better on a galloping left handed track I think.

I’ll hang on to the Bob Olinger ticket for now. I have a feeling we didn’t see the best of Bob on the day. Jockey reported that the horse didn’t give her the same feel like he did in the Ballymore and trainer said he was surprised the horse was off the bridle so soon. I’ve also checked the sectionals report of Galopin Des Champs against Allaho’s in case it was off the charts, however Galopin’s wasn’t close, which, to some degree, supports jockey and trainer post race thoughts that the Mullins horse is very good but their horse didn’t travel like they were expecting.

The trainer confirmed Bob Olinger was being treated for a torn muscle after his victory in the Turners Novices Chase.

Agreed – you’d didn’t need tonight’s race to see that as the evidence was already there.

3/1 looks awfully skinny for a horse that’s not certain to run

The problem is the John durkan is a bit closer to the King George than ideal

I backed him for the 2021 renewal just to be told after the John durkan he’d had a hard race and wasn’t running

Given he always comes on for the run its hard to see him having an easy race on the John durkan, it’s fairly likely both him and galopin des champs will run in it to start their season as there aren’t many other options

I would imagine he won’t run in the John Durkan if he’s going to the King George.

    Mullins quote post race…

“I’ll talk to Richard Thompson (of Cheveley Park), but that opens up a lot more options for him now. You could probably say King George the way he jumps.”

    So we will see.

There has to be a better system than starting a thread a year in advance then expecting people to go back goodness how many pages months later to see if a big race thread already exists.

At least the debate that just got deleted was current and relevant.

Anyway, YESTERDAY Bravemansgame 161 won by three and a half from Eldorado Allen (who was conceding 3lb) 162 with 10yo Sam Brown (conceding a pound) 157 a further half a length away in third – they’ve all more or less run to their marks.

Nicholls can say what he likes – the horse has yet to prove he’s on the same level as his past winners.

Gladders HAD nailed it in a sentence – if Allaho turns up, I reckon you’d get better than 9/4 Bravemansgame on the day.

Because he’s got a stone to find.
