Pulled up with a broken hind leg on the flat at Punchestown. Very sad for all concerned. Edited – I was listening to G Elliot interview but not hearing it right (too upset) … not from same stable as Sie Du Berlais.
May 2, 2024 at 19:18 #1692532Kilbeg King was trained by Anthony Honeyball. He won the race last year, what a long, sad journey they’ll have back home after losing him.
Condolences to all his connections.
RIP Kilbeg KingMay 2, 2024 at 19:19 #1692533Another tough loss. Though he was with Anthony Honeyball and not Gordon Elliott.
May he rest in peace.
May 2, 2024 at 19:22 #1692534Awful, so sad to read this. He had won the equivalent race last season too.
I was looking forward to seeing him hopefully get a first win over fences next season, but of coure that potential will never be fulfilled now.
Rotten days like today really challenge my love of racing.
RIP Kilbeg King
May 2, 2024 at 19:53 #1692539Tough one to hear about. Out of 6 runners in the 2023 ‘Feltham Chase’ there only 3 left alive.

And the winner has difficulties resuming his career

This has been the saddest week I can remember.Hard to come to terms with the loss of Kilbeg King, Sire Du Berlais and Shishkin who died at home.
What a stable God must be creating up there.
