Do you think Kauto Star will win the King George VI
3m Chase at Kempton Park on Boxing Day & are you willing to take best odds of 8/11 at various bookmakers – William Hill,Boylesports,Blue Square to name a few ?The Nicholls & Walsh combination has being going great
guns recently & this is one clearly their top horse.Perhaps Imperial Commander can go one better & beat
Kauto Star this time & there’s also the very dangerous
Madison Du Berlais for the Pipe yard.Again It will be a fascinating race & not as easy to
call, as many folk think.Mark
December 10, 2009 at 17:05 #263223Imperial Commander is better going right handed.
I dont think Barbers Shop really sees out 3 miles all that well.
Madison Du Berlais won’t get near Kauto Star.
Nacarat or Albertas Run are the 2 who i think will probably finished 2nd/3rd, but im not sure in what order.
As long as he doesn’t fall, Kauto will win again.
December 10, 2009 at 17:12 #263227No such thing as a certainty but hard to see anything beating him
December 10, 2009 at 17:32 #263236I agree, hes as near a certainty as yer gonna get. Nothing quick enough in the division in the race to get near him round Kempton.
December 10, 2009 at 18:04 #263245He will win if he jumps well. Nicholls will be overjoyed with a hell of a lot more emotion that the effort he tried to make when Denman won the Hennessey. If Kauto produced that performance that Denman did, he would’ve been doing cart wheels. On ratings, there’s nothing within 12 pounds of him.

December 10, 2009 at 19:47 #263262I hope I’m wrong but something just tells me winning four King George’s in a row will be beyond Kauto Star. I hope its my nerves getting the better of me!
December 10, 2009 at 20:28 #263274I hope for your sake he makes it four coz he certainly aint gonna retain the crown in March at Cheltenham
December 10, 2009 at 20:33 #263276Of the last few weeks racing i think Denman was much more impressive in his race at Newbury than Kauto was at Haydock and their is a chance that Kauto could have left his race at Haydock.
Imperial Commander and Madison will both act a lot better at Kempton than Haydock.
Kauto is the class act as we all know but in the KG but you dont know what will happen until they line up.

Follow that up with naming the horse that will beat him in the Gold Cup Ardrossthegreat. There isn’t one in Ireland that I can see at the moment and only a couple that will seriously challenge this side of the pond. I am thinking of Denman and this Deep Purple has shown good promise this season, though he needs to improve a bit.
Oh and I think the King George is simple this year. Kauto turns up, jumps safely round, wins in a canter and we salute a great champion. I then watch The Quiet Man on the DVD and fall asleep after after me tea and dream of Cheltenham and him winning a third Gold Cup.
December 23, 2009 at 15:38 #265135Analysing the race again, If it goes ahead – I think that Deep Purple is the value e/way bet at 9/4 with various bookmakers – Betfred, Boylesports, Bet365, Paddypower, Stan James ………
Assuming Kauto Star wins or places, that leaves us with
twelve other potential horses & of that I’ve able to eliminate six of them, which leaves us with six.I know a 33% chance of placing at odds of 9/4 does’nt sound like good maths – But I think Imperial Commander, Madison Du Berlais, Barber Shop & our chosen Horse Deep Purple will fight it out for 2nd & 3rd spot with Nacarat & Albertas Run following in about 6th & 7th position.
So after doing all the data crunching I thought he has 13/8 chance of the places & therefore 9/4 is a reasonable value bet.
So my 80/20 bet for the King George VI Chase is with Deep Purple – £20 at 14/1 & £80 at 9/4.

I hope Nick Shiambouros isn’t reading this – he’s quite litigious I hear!
