Karin Baroness von Ullmann died in her sleep yesterday. Owner of Germanys most famous stud Gestüt Schlenderhan and mother of Baron Georg von Ullmann. A Grande Dame who will be much missed, a great pioneer of German racing.
Just heard about it this afternoon. A really bad last few days for Georg Baron von Ullmann – first nearly losing Adlerflug (I’d be surprised if he races again), and now losing his mother. I think for this reason, Schlenderhan will be going all out to win the German Derby at Hamburg in a few weeks.
