I am not sure anything could have lived with City Of Troy, LD. If they took him on they would probably have got beaten by further.

York is a front runners track and this horse is best when he is making the running.

Will we see Economics v COT? If COT goes for the Breeders Cup they’ll probably get him over there for a race beforehand non?

With AF, I am not sure it is the jockey per say as they need to teach him how to settle better – wouldn’t have mattered who was on him today as he ran with the choke fully out and gave himself no chance.

“Ambiente Friendly needs a new jockey. ASAP….”

Bit harsh, i knew my fate early when the horse didn’t settle throwing his head around. Not sure what any jockey could’ve done today.

CAS – you maybe right but giving COT a start meant he had to use up a lot of petrol just to get into a challenging position but he kept with him all the way to the line.

Fingers crossed we get a rematch at Leopardstown.

Well Mike and LD73, I have to ask what they were doing behind Hans Andersen? Once that position was taken they hopes of getting involved at the end simply vanished.

He is going away again at the finish. Tremendous performance.

If only he could have been like that in the Guineas! 😥

Poor old Hans. He had one job and CoT didn’t even need him. Ryan obviously having fun up front today.

“Fingers crossed we get a rematch at Leopardstown.”

It will be the same result. Assuming all is well, none of the defeated horses will ever finish in front of City Of Troy.

Ruby even if he took that position he was pulling too hard for it to have made any difference today anyway.

All COT’s main rivals were hold up horses.
Great tactics played by Coolmore with a strong south westerly wind almost directly behind them favouring front runners. Tactically brilliant.
Do have to wonder whether Calandagan would’ve pushed him hard or even won given a normal race though.

    The front 2 are excellent.

Such a pity Calandagan can’t run in the Arc as he’d have taken some beating imo.

He’d struggle on soft i think. Fast ground has made him progressive.

You’re right about that, but I still don’t want to have Havlin on a G1 race. He just doesn’t that good at the highest level. He pulled hard for Shepherd as well, but the settled him nicely at Lingfield.
