Hawaafez was bitterly disappointing, looked all at sea in the ground. Noble Mission ran a cracker, I thought he was going to get there but not quite. He’s been a good servant this year. That’s pretty much it for me now until Cheltenham. Happy punting to the jumps fans.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Not sure I’d blame the ground for Hawaafez Steve, it was pretty soft at Ascot too and an action that should be suited by it. Runs her best races from the front and it’s possible not being able to lead didn’t suit her.

So we are almost there now. Just a few more days to go and I am off tomorrow for 2 weeks work in Qatar so this could be my last tip of the season. Will write a review when I get back as well as the third and final part of my Frankel epic (bet you can’t wait for that! ) but then I will hibernate for most of the winter as the jumps isn’t really my thing.

The Breeders Cup has not really got me going this year but I really hope Excelebration wins tomorrow. The only bet I will have is in the Juvenile with the AOB trained

    Lines of Battle

(ew 14’s). I saw this fella at RA and thought he looked the type to improve with age and for a longer trip. Hopefully he will run a nice race.

So the dark days of winter are upon us. I like the jumps but there is nothing like the thrill of the flat for me and March seems a long way off. But it was a fantastic flat season this year and I had a lot of fun with this thread. The overall results are published below which shows 31 winners from 129 bets at 24% and a level stakes profit of 138 points. If you had taken the e/w win advice profit would have been 158 points to a 2 point stake. Not bad even if it does include my Bubba Watson US Open win.

    The betting highlights were

    Monterrosso

at the start of the season, the

    big Cecil double

    and of course

    The Wonder Horse

winning by 11 lengths at Royal Ascot.

The non betting highlight was obvious. I am going to write my own Frankel review (and the third part of my epic trilogy) next week when I have a week of nights in a lonely hotel room in Geneva!

Just wanted to say thanks to all the people who contributed on here especially regulars like Gord, Ginge, Superman, The Blessed Martin, Steve Caution, Pants, Nathan and Rich. Hope to see you all back here next year!

Fantastic thread and profit Joni, well done. I have enjoyed reading your thought process on selections and hopefully learnt a few things.

An excellent thread Joni, not just about recording bets but like Nath says your thought process in coming to your conclusions is quite unique! What is it?………….’If Sir Henrys got one in it back it’!! Your prose on the Wonder horse

    Frankel

is as good as anyones and what seperates yourself from others is the fact you were driving the bandwagon so many jumped on.Well done mate and you have to be shortlisted for the prestigious award all Top writers want to win………No not that one! Its called TRF Poster of the year!

Good stuff Joni, can only concur with the other guys, a good read and some top tipping to boot.

It’ll be a long winter and although I enjoy the jumps it’s too much centred on 4 days in March for my liking. Roll on The Spring to the flat season and Dawn Approach flying down The Rowley Mile to win The Guineas to kick us off

Good thread in a difficult season for many. You must be counting the days until Frankels sprogs arrive.

A horse I have been waiting to see since he ran a couple of weeks ago turned out today and won at a nice 6-1.

    Homeric

looks like he could be a decent horse and I will be interested to see his handicap mark as he met trouble in running today and only just got home. I think he will be well suited by a more galloping track as he is quite big – so keep an eye out for this son of Montjeu.

    [attachment=0:3ommzlgd]if6bzm.jpg[/attachment:3ommzlgd]

    Here’s a Picture of

    Homeric

‘Mother Hen’,I took it on his debut at Nottingham last November,I actually put him up on my ‘Gone Fishing’ thread on the same day at 25/1 so you could say I’ve been keeping my eye on him for quite a while eh? 8)

Joni,I thought of you as soon as I saw this fellow today! As for sir Henrys ‘Niarchos’ 2nd string??………I’m kicking myself at 20/1!
