Not a race I usually play Antepost, but Champagne Classic at 20’s NRNB is very generous. The 33’s appeals also, but that NRNB makes some difference.
Not bet yet, but tempted.
Must agree here. Got him for the RSA but i reckon this is the one like.
February 6, 2019 at 07:59 #1395264I was unimpressed enough by Hardline’s jumping at the weekend to want add another and it’s my summer friend Robin des Foret.
Glaring negative is that he hasn’t been out since his fall when in contention in November, and of course he may not turn up, but this is his only Cheltenham entry.Other negatives are that apparently he prefers a flat track and this ties in a bit with his jumping- he’s a long striding horse who finds it hard to shorten up and pop a fence neatly if he gets in close- as well as the fall he made a hash of the last in the Like a Butterfly chase and really loses momentum if he gets a fence wrong- but when he meets them right he jumps very well and has loads of scope. He also has the ability to mix it with the likes of Le Richebourg. I’ll be holding my breath as he’s galloping downhill round corners towards fences but if he gets a clear round I’d be hopeful of a good run.
He’s 9, so there’s no point in cotton wooling him; and of course I’m a sucker for a price. 40-1 EW 1/4 odds with b365 was too good to ignore.
February 14, 2019 at 00:46 #1397364Greenasgrass, that was a real disappointment from Hardline wasn’t it, but I’m willing to give him another chance, and I’ve taken 20-1 here.
February 14, 2019 at 10:21 #1397376I’d imagine Champagne Classic will come here. He’ll be of interest i’d say, but not just yet, as weekend decs will confirm what they are thinking.
Lostintranslation for me, is the one to beat here. He was jumping left the whole way LTO, and back LH’d he’ll be more fluent. Also hope somethign will give him a lead to save the game of cat + mouse him + Defi have played the last two races

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!February 14, 2019 at 12:55 #1397387I’ve gone in again with Champagne Classic NRNB at 12s. The market is a mess, the top two run and then there’s 5-6 non-runners ahead of him in the market.
Even if he wins the G2 over 3 this weekend, Shattered Love won over 3 and won the JLT last season.
Now my biggest earner at the Fez this beastFebruary 15, 2019 at 09:23 #1397465Gordon stated on a Twitter Q&A last night Champagne Classic’s plan is to run Sunday and then if all goes well the NH Chase.
February 15, 2019 at 16:56 #1397502As a matter of interest where’s this Q&A Kev? Wouldn’t mind a goosey.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!February 18, 2019 at 11:45 #1397896Glen Forsa looks perfect for this to me, took 10s NRNB after Fridays run.
They’re swaying towards the Arkle but i’d be coming here every day of the week.
February 18, 2019 at 12:08 #1397898I know that the general feeling is that Drovers Lane will head for the RSA but I think they might decide on this contest, having already bagged a win over course and distance
His odds are too big considering several ahead of him in the market will definitely not run here.
March 7, 2019 at 11:06 #1400047Just seen the comments from Kim Bailey explaining why Vinndication doesn’t run and I have to say: I’m not sure he’s being transparent as he should. My suspicion is that Vinndication didn’t handle going left handed and that this came to light during his preparatory gallop at Newbury. He hasn’t raced at a left handed track and it can’t be any coincidence that Bailey is now talking about Punchestown which, as you all know, is a right handed track.
March 8, 2019 at 09:56 #1400170Went ahead with the 20s NRNB EW on Drovers Lane before the 6 day decs are announced. B365 1/4 odds price had shortened so I went with Boylesports who are 1/5 for a place.
March 8, 2019 at 10:12 #1400172Vinndication now runs. Bailey said he ‘changed his mind’
March 8, 2019 at 21:13 #1400252Fancy lostintranslation to overturn the sandown form with defi here
Hoping for a stronger run race to bring out the best in lostintranslation and make it more of a staying contest than the two times they have faced before
Defi should be in what looks a very weak arkle imo
March 13, 2019 at 22:57 #1401850I’ve gone for Lostintranslation here at 9/2. I expect Voix de Reve and Vinndication will make it a true test and that might suit Lostintranslation more then Defi du Sueil. Can’t really fance one of the horses with bigger prices.
March 13, 2019 at 23:15 #1401863Mengli Khan at 14/1 looks the winner to me.
March 13, 2019 at 23:38 #1401867I’m surprised Ruby is on VdR. Has looked a sketchy jumper at times. He must think it worth the risk. Odd. Mind you I suppose Real Steel has an F to his name over fences too.
