Geez, I’m an Aussie & I stayed up to watch Frankel the other night. He’s an excitement machine. Nothing like watching top class horses run!
I can understand frustration but not boredom. We’ve been going through that with Black Caviar too. A lot of her top competition refuse to race against her anymore thus her last couple of wins have been against far inferior horses. I hope that you guys don’t suffer the same fate with Frankel but it is heading that way….
Nicely put.
I think we all want to see Frankel step up a few furlongs in distance. To me the thought of what I consider to be the greatest flat horse I’ve ever seen retiring without us the racing public ever knowing for certain whether he would get 10 or 12 furlongs is almost unthinkable. On the other hand if Sir Henry appeases the baying racing fans by trying him out over further and he gets beaten by the trip I’ll be pretty gutted too.
To be honest if he did turn out to be capable of 12 furlongs I’d be a bit disappointed anyway. After the Guineas last year I was certain his style of running up with the pace and his awesome stride were perfectly suited to the Epsom classic. I could see him swallowing up the field with that relentless gallop as they rounded Tattenham corner. Another Shergar or Slip Anchor I thought. Made for the Derby! And I was sure Sir Henry had been mistaken in not entering him into the Derby.
Having watched his progress since though I’m less convinced. He just looks too keen in the early parts of his races to me for a middle distance horse. Also despite some pretty disrespectful posts on here regarding Sir Henry, I personally am happy to accept his judgement. You wouldn’t ask Loch Song or Cadeaux Genereux etc to prove their brilliance by taking on horses over a mile or further, why should we expect Frankel to face certain defeat by running over distances he might not get?
May 30, 2012 at 18:59 #406040I am seriously bored with Frankel and the yard for not taking any risks. I cant believe the public think he is the best horse in the world, when he just about makes the top 3
lolTop 3
1. Black Caviar
2. So you think
3. Camelot/ FrankelBtw im not Australian lol they just have two very good horses lol

Or maybe it just you who haven’t got a clue about making appropriate "tongue in cheeck" comment? You’re about the only on this forum who thinks your posts scream of sarcasm. See the common parameter here, maybe start looking in your own backgarden eh?
All you come across with your smileys and complete failures at sarcasm is some 10 year old kid who’s consistently been ending up with egg on his face with his comments about how Frankel is gonna get beat (or how he’s beat nothing of note, or how Canford Cliffs is a distinctly average sort), and yet still somehow manage to make even more of a fool of himself by trying to pass his comments as tongue in cheek! How prodigious! I think you should stick to Facebook.
June 1, 2012 at 10:44 #406233Geezus! get off his back, anyone who took that post in any other way as the way it was meant has no sense of humour at all.
LOl means
LOL in any language. He knows well fine Black Caviar would never get into any top 3 list
June 6, 2012 at 13:19 #407079If Sir Henry thinks Frankel will not go beyond a mile why not come straight out and say so instead of this mumbling about.I have looked at all his races and I believe he is strictly a miler. So why not go to France where the best milers race and prove to the world that he is the best miler in racing. Is there a mile on turf in the BC?Why not go to that?If he is strictly a miler he must beat the rest to be the best.

When was he mumbling Andy have I missed something? As far as I know he still thinks he WILL race over more than a mile.
As for France being where the best milers race – are you on medication today? How did you work that one out?

Some days I reckon you just wake up and think "oh I havent had a good old moan about Frankel for ages. THAT’S what I’ll do today!"

"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
