Hes only a 6yo too this could completly ruin this horse surley Gigginstown and Willy should have learned with Weapons Amnesty and Cooldine
March 7, 2012 at 10:28 #395127What’s going on with Peddlers Cross. First he’s moved from the Arkle to the Jewson…..and now he’s starting to drift for the Jewson. From 3-1 yesterday with Hills, now out to 5-1.
Is there something we should know?
March 7, 2012 at 10:57 #395130No brainer. Horses schools badly a couple of times before the Festival. His target is switched from a Grade 1 to a Grade 2. Clearly connections not happy, so lay the bollocks off him. I wouldn’t back him at 5/1 to finish in the top 3.
March 7, 2012 at 12:23 #395152Yep I had heard he has missed a bit of training so all is not well. I just wondered if there was some other news that came out today, just that it’s a bit of a jump this morning with Hills on info that has been known.
I take all you say Zark, but I like the horse and if they somehow manage to get him right for Cheltenham I think he would have a great chance, but too many iffs and buts for me at this time.
I’ll wait and see how the reports are from the McCain camp before deciding to do anything in the Jewson.
March 7, 2012 at 12:45 #395161Its only 5s with Hills because its their special offer of the day. The did it With Hurricane on Monday and Oscar Whisky yesterday.
I wouldn’t back Peddlers with stolen money though. McCain quoted as saying that he schooled the other day but not as they had hoped.
March 7, 2012 at 12:47 #395162Yes my source said he schooled dreadfully behind closed doors at Bangor.
March 7, 2012 at 12:53 #395164Agree PC is not a betting proposition for now full stop. With SDC swerving this I’ve yet to commit, maybe Willie thinks Call The Police can do the business here? He did run well lto travelling well up alongside Last Instalment before not quite finding as much as LI on the run in.

Much as it pains me to agree, I must
I love Peddler’s, I’ve been on him every time he’s run (Covered my main fancies, Rite of Passage and Hurricane Fly, with him EW at the last two Festivals) but I don’t think I’ll be backing him this year even if he does run.
I don’t think we know all the reasons and background to his well being this season but I no longer expect him to run at The Festival at all. If he’s not 100% why risk him?March 7, 2012 at 13:08 #395167Agreed. It’s poor from connections to send a horse for any race if he’s not 100% – let alone one at the Festival. Hopefully he’ll make it back safe and sound.
March 7, 2012 at 13:30 #395173I think connections have now realised that last year’s CH bottomed the horse.
Will be surprised to see him at the Festival.
March 7, 2012 at 14:32 #395184Many thanks Blunkett, that explains the strange movement in the market. I agree with just about what everyone has written, I like the horse a lot, but he is not a betting proposition.
March 7, 2012 at 14:38 #395189Well with the Mullins merry-go-round on-going I cann see First Lieutenant heading for the Jewson now

The 20s with Billys may look massive next week
March 7, 2012 at 14:42 #395191Still think there’s a big chance Sir Des Champs will run in the Jewson. Please god let First Lieutenant run in the RSA
March 7, 2012 at 14:43 #395193I can’t see him going for this race GDC, but there’s no harm in nrnb. I think FL will certainly go for the RSA, and the only question is whether or not to replace Last Instalment with a second runner. This mob are fast becoming the ballydoyle of the NH, and i’m not just talkking about the quality of horses. I may be wrong, but i’m sure Davvy has tipped up different horses in preview nights for the race…call the police and Invictus ?

That’s how I’d run them, my only worry is First Lieutenant’s fencing although he still my first (and most realistic) choice.
That said the more I watch the reruns the more I’m starting to fancy HAPRSY CORD to get a place at least, so much so I’ve just had a speculative £50 EW @ 66/1 NRNB
NRNB There will be the usual carnage, I don’t expect Grand Crus to run and Dreaper’s horse is a solid jumper, stays well and at only six, he’s still improving and may have slipped under radar.
He’s got entries in shorter races but he looks a stayer to meMarch 7, 2012 at 15:59 #395205i’m probably gonna ignore all the talk and all the hype about his well being, avoid overanalysing it, and back clearly the best horse
in the race in peddlers (as soon as the race goes nrnb.)
March 7, 2012 at 16:42 #395208The race is NRNB with a lot of firms. I’m pretty sure Harpsy Cord will go for a hcap.
