Let’s see the Peddlers prove that he’s got the stamina, he’s got the guts, and he’s got the class.

    C’mon the Cross!

Peddlers Cross for me to continue McCain’s excellent festival.

… also along with Sprinter Sacre routing the Arkle field, McCain probably justified going for Jewson.

Peddlers Cross for me too Mullins horse the danger.

Having been beaten out of sight at Christmas and seen the subsequent improvement at Newbury, Donald McCain showed plenty of wisdom in avoiding a horse he knew he could not beat. Why sacrifice a novice chaser when there are bigger prizes next year.

Lovely horse and will be very interesting next year.

You’d have to have been an idiot to back Peddler’s Cross.

Two biggest rivals disappointed big time. Sir Des didn’t have much to beat in the end, but did it well. Better than distances back to placed horses suggest. A live Gold Cup contender next year.

It seems the rumours of Peddlers Cross’s wellbeing were right. Cristal Bonus was freindless the last few days. Steve Mellish said the Nicholls horse looked disappointing in the paddock (rare for them to say that).

You’d have to feel like one if you’ve run him.

    Crazy.

Sir Deschamps was awesome; every inch a Gold Cup horse. He had the race won a mile out.
A month ago I would have only put him 4th in the Gigginstown heirarchy; behind Last Instalment (1st), Bog Warrior (2nd), and First Lieutenant (3rd).
    Got that one completely wrong.

Peddlers cross has got a problem somewhere in his hind quarters which is why he jumps right handed and holds his tail at a wierd angle. He was flying up the gallops but they don’t have fences in them. Pleased he is going back hurdling. sir des Champs is going to be a beggar to keep sound but jebus he is gorgeous! From the Mill House, Best Mate (who was much bigger than people think) and Denman school of proper chasers. Flemenstar and first Lieutenant; The Paddys are coming for the Gold cup next year!!!!!

If you don’t think Grands Crus’ performance was as impressive as everybody else thinks so, then yes, it is.

Since beating Captain Chris by 10 lengths over hurdles at Chepstow, he bolted up against a field of slowcoaches at Ascot, was then soundly beaten by a couple of horses who have been thoroughly exposed now as mediocre, then 4th of 5 beaten 24 lengths against a couple of decent horses, beaten yet again by Cue Card, only had to beat 1 other horse to win at Wincanton the other month and the other day he beat a horse with just 1 previous chase outing who was off the bridle after about 1 of the 3 miles.

On the last of the starts from the first half of his career, he beat the Arkle winner by 10 lengths.

On 2 of his next 3 outings he was beaten by the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle 4th.

Dodgy attitude and I’d hate to own him. He actually reminds me a fair bit of Silverburn.

    *cough*
