Any thoughts on how this will pan out?

Free Judgement is well fancied, although Bolger’s can blow hot and cold. However, if he runs to the same level as his last race he should win this with something in hand.

Is seven furlongs far enough for Free Judgement, even with the likely strong pace? He ran well enough in the Irish 2000 Guineas, but Canford Cliffs absolutely slaughtered him and Steinbeck didn’t do the form of the placed horses any favours yesterday. He also has to shoulder a 3lb penalty for his Group 3 successes.

Despite having something to find with a handful of these on recent form, I quite like the look of

    Lucky General

at 33/1. Seven furlongs would appear to be his trip and I’m more than prepared to overlook his latest outing at Epsom. His juvenile form is reasonable, he’s solidly built and he ran perfectly well against older horses in a decent Listed race at Windsor two starts ago.

Richard Hughes can do what he wants from his stands-side draw and one would suspect that Dick Turpin would have run if required.

Red Jazz is the benchmark horse, as he won the European Free H’cap 7f (2006 & 2009), and came second in the King Charles II 7f (2006 & 2007).

Field Of Dream, winner of the King Charles II is almost twice the price. However, that victory was a bit of a surprise to Cumani, who reckons the horse has to improve again.

On actual form, Free Judgement is the standout, with the second in the Irish 2000 Guineas.

Not really a race I bet in, but another interesting horse is Mezaan. Was backward last season, making his debut in a £1m sales race in the backend.

Faded to fifth in the 1600m Poulains.
