Just rode Annabelles Charm at leicester. Why didn’t he kick him on and then surely would of won at least. this is not the first time he goes along side a horse apparently travelling all over it and still lost e.g. Apotheosis on friday at newbury! Why does he do this???

May 19, 2009 at 22:58 #228776Matt, if you care to look through past threads you will see that this subject has been cooked, boiled, roasted and scrambled a fair bit already.
KMay 19, 2009 at 23:07 #228781Annabelles Charm is a decent horse but has done that before if i’m honest.
I wouldnt put the blame fully on Spencer but it did indeed seem to be for the taking well over 3 furlongs out.
Maybe he can redeem himself in the next with Steel Free?
May 19, 2009 at 23:09 #228782Was that not started by you ken?
As i am new to this site i would not of seen it, but i did go to 3 pages back and there was no mention of spencer. This is the reason i posted it.Matt

KYes, if only Spencer had looked back at those previous threads!
May 21, 2009 at 20:40 #229247annabelles charm got outbattled end of story.
May 21, 2009 at 21:02 #229254Yes, but the point i was getting at is the way he was travelling there should of been no battle!

May 21, 2009 at 23:32 #229309Don’t know about his other rides this week but he was in excellent form on the winner of the Lupe today.
No, I didn’t back him, I was on the 2nd and 3rd.
He had to make a couple of important decisions in that race. Wasn’t afraid to sit off a very slow pace; decided to track horses in the middle of the course and eventually pulled-out wide to deliver a challenge.
I wish the swine had got it wrong… but he didn’t.
May 22, 2009 at 00:57 #229345Hawks Eye, Salis’. Spencer ?
May 22, 2009 at 01:44 #229362The great thing about the ‘net is that you can watch any race in the UK on either RUK or ATR.
So, thanks to genosull’s previous comment I managed to have a couple of views of that race.
He was held-up.
He seemed to be going well 2, 2 1/2F out.He had room to make a move.
He finished ninth, didn’t he?
Hard to argue that there was any great injustice in that race.
May 22, 2009 at 01:50 #229365I think people need to just realize that Jamie Spencer is not a very good jockey. Its very easy to look back at the ballydoyle job as some critique for him to be a Top Jockey.
The fact is Jamie Spencer replacing Micheal Kinane was one of the worst decision John Magnier has ever made and obviously was blinded to his own.
Jamie was never a very good jockey…hes just another Daryll Holland or Seb Sanders…who work hard for many stables but at the end of the day will never have the talent of Ryan Moore or even more lately William Buick.
Feel sorry for some of the abuse he gets and some judge him by extraodinary standards that he rarely has ever lived up to
May 22, 2009 at 02:56 #229377jack ramsden happy though!
When his son in law is riding a fav last 3 seasons laying every one to win a hundred pound would have paid for the top of the range Jaguar car!
easy as that!
May 22, 2009 at 20:19 #229484What the hell was he up to on Island Chief ?
Watched the race online so wasnt very clear, but from what i saw seemed like he was lucky not to fall and bring a few others down with him!

I’ve only seen the incident once and it looked like the horse jinked; he did look quite lucky to stay in the saddle too. My first thought was that the horse had gone lame but he [rather pointlessly]rode out almost to the line.
I must say, I’m not a fan of these ‘under the microscope’ threads, but sqiddly doo’s all the same!
