How long of a ban does that ride on banks boy deserve? Cant recall seeing a jockey do this as badly as that recently
January 22, 2022 at 14:30 #1579281Looked to me like the horse didn’t want to go past the leader.
January 22, 2022 at 14:52 #1579287He didnt try to go past the leader is the point, there was literally no attempt from jack to win the race, now he may have or may not have won, but thats not the point, there was no attempt made, traded at 1.01
January 22, 2022 at 14:54 #1579289I will have to watch it again but my initial thought was the same as Glad’s.
If you were on the fiddle, wouldn’t you do it a bit less blatantly?
January 22, 2022 at 14:58 #1579291I dont think jack has intentionally lost, its not what im getting at, but he didnt try and win, on a horse who traded at 1.01 with 100 yards to go, never gave him a tap once, shook him up pretty much on the line.
Again, the horse may not have passed him had he went for him, but he didnt try is the issue here, needs a fair fine and ban for that, cant be allowed, bear in mind were not talking about a horse who has a history of not liking the whip here, hes only had a few runs
£1400 on at 1.01
January 22, 2022 at 15:00 #1579292Will hopefully catch a clip of this on youtube later.

January 22, 2022 at 15:11 #1579295TTC- you know you can get free replays of all UK and Irish races on the Sporting Life website and app?
You just need to register and the replays usually come up about ten to fifteen minutes after the race.
January 22, 2022 at 15:29 #1579300No I didn’t know that. Cheers.

January 22, 2022 at 17:07 #1579364Stewards seemed quite busy at Navan. Report into this particular race includes the following:
At the request of the Stewards, J.W. Kennedy, rider of Banks Boy, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Stewards’ Secretaries that he did not want his mount to get there too soon as he can be lary, so he produced him late and his mount just stayed on one paced when he came off the bridle.
January 23, 2022 at 07:11 #1579424Here is the race – it starts at 4 min 20 seconds into the clip.
Having watched it again, I still think the horse did not want to go by. Not much more Kennedy could have done, in my opinion.
January 23, 2022 at 08:08 #1579433Has anyone checked the pedigree ….he,s not out of the family as Harchibald is he ?
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 23, 2022 at 11:43 #1579454He’s either a bridle merchant/softie or Jack didn’t want to win by too far (the owner is JPs wife) so thought hands and heels would do the job – trading at 1.01 the market agrees with him.
I’m unsure which one in all honesty and I’d like to think time will tell but you never know when it comes to the icy tentacles.January 23, 2022 at 11:52 #1579456The horse may be awkward or may not be, but that was a laughable finishing effort from the jockey in my opinion.

January 23, 2022 at 12:43 #1579464The problem was the horse hadn’t been close enough in a finish on previous runs to work out whether or not it was a dodgepot, to whit we only have it on the jockey’s word that he can be ‘a bit lary’.
January 23, 2022 at 13:41 #1579479No future entries, difficult one, I’m confused.com
January 25, 2022 at 09:21 #1579806The horse looked to visibly slow down when getting upsides the winner
He was making ground very quickly before that, then in the end the winner seemed to be getting slightly further ahead if anything
Its the problem with backing low grade horses, some of them simply don’t want to win
Maybe if Jack had his chance again he’d deliver him further away from the other horse if the ground on the outside isnt any worse
Headgear certainly seems required
Hes got there thinking he’s going to win pushed out and the horse made him look very stupid, you can see him panic 30 or 40 yards from the line when he realises the horse isn’t going through with it and by then its too late
