Interesting, Drone; I’m exactly the opposite to you, in that I don’t like but do need other people. 🤔

Drone’s just a nicer – and more tolerant – bloke than me, but then most people are.

I don’t want to close all pubs, btw, I just don’t want to ever set foot in one, still less prop one up financially with my custom.

“As for scotland. You have your parliament and perhaps they should sort out the worst health and drug problems in Europe before seriously blaming the tories for everything ”

I didn’t blame anyone for anything Clive, I merely pointed out that Scotland
are effectively under a Tory government which they haven’t voted for since
    1955. That’s a fact mate :good:

The trouble is that, with the SNP taking so many of what would have been Labour votes at one time, it’s making it very difficult for Labour to win elections.

I am wondering if a Labour/SNP coalition might be the net product of the 2024 Election.

Trouble is Starmer will have to agree to another referendum. But I can’t see an alternative solution. Rumour has it that there are enough letters of no confidence to get Johnson out. Don’t think I’ll be sleeping tonight…

If only Corbyn were to start a new party and Angela “Scum” Raynor went with him… (plus McDonnell, Burgon, Lavery, Chakrabati, Butler, Abbott and a few other far left Labour MP’s) were to all leave Labour in order to form their own party…

Then and only then could I and many others vote Labour.

So Corbyn making his own party could help the Labour Party enormously.

So you would be happy to vote for a pink party comprised of wet weeks like Starmer?

I could vote for a New New Labour, Purwell; if I didn’t like the way the Conservatives were going.

My politics are Centre-Right with the emphasis on centre.
If I thought Conservatives were further right than I’d want and Labour were Centre more than left, then yes I could vote Labour…

But there can be no place in a centre party for the likes of Corbyn, McDonnell, Raynor, Burgon and Co.

I see a Conservative MP who no one has ever heard of has defected to Labour.

Does that mean Angela Rayner does not think he is scum any more? ;-)

I’m no fan of this government, but any MP defecting is a betrayal of the voters who elected them.

As for Johnson, he’s in deep trouble – 1/2 from 4/6 to be gone by the autumn Party conference and only 3/1 to still be in the job at the end of this month.

‘It is always the best policy to speak the truth, unless, of course, you are an exceptionally good liar.’ Jerome K. Jerome

Boris Johnson isn’t even a good liar, but English voters have decided this is acceptable. I won’t be surprised if he hangs on, despite his ludicrous defence, as he has always been good at self-advancement.
And the alternatives; Liz Truss? Dominic Raab?

The Bury nonentity sponsored a Bill to ensure MPs who switch sides mid-Parliament should face a by-election. Obviously does not think it applies to him.

Nice of him to say he believes it is in his constituents best interests for him to represent them from the Labour benches. I wonder how many he asked? No doubt he will be working flat out to delete all his anti-Labour tweets.

Starmer was not great today. Just made the same point over and over again. It was too easy for Johnson, who showed a bit more spirit than he did last week.

I think circumstances dictated Johnson was always going to lose PMQs again today but he didn’t lose nearly as heavily as he did last week.

Starmer was arguably initially more witty than he was last week, but it became different versions of the same joke over and over again and the net result was that he was less effective than he was the previous week.

Starmer was better last week when he attacked Johnskn like the lawyer he is. Serious, rather humourless men like him trying to make jokes never works. Gordon Brown was terrible at it as well.

Johnson was not great either but at least he tried to take the argument back to Starmer. Last week he looked absolutely broken and defeated.

Talk Radio seem to think Johnson is finished but I am starting to think he is going to survive, at least in the short term unless Sue Gray’s report is critical of him. The local election results in May are more likely to finish him than any jokes by Starmer or drama queen announcements by Davis.
