Bet 365 restricted my brothers account and he didn’t even win anything. He was doing really small stakes on forecasts, so they restricted his account because he was on the right track. Maybe he would have got a bob or two in the end up, but 6 x 30 pence forecasts ain’t gonnae have them handing out p45s.
What a joke they are. <!– s:lol: –>

I opened an account with Bet 365 just to get the 10/1 Duke of Marmalade
to win the King george last year! No problems at all, good choice of Ante-Post prices too!May 24, 2009 at 01:19 #229724

You defy belief, TAPK.
I’ve never had a problem with Bet365, though I only tend to use them because there aren’t many firms who offer odds on speedway meetings (on one occasion I actually had to tell them they’d settled a bet incorrectly because they couldn’t work out how to apply the handicap they’d set).
May 24, 2009 at 01:23 #229726I do most of my betting with Bet365 because they offer the price guarantee and are invariably first up with their prices.
Never had any problems and I would be loathe to criticise bookmakers who actually offer incentives for the relatively small punter – the big four might accommodate larger bets but beyond that they do virtually nothing.
May 24, 2009 at 04:16 #229760I have to say that Bet 365 are the only bookmakers across the oddschecker line who will lay me a decent bet: they laid Alyarf to lose a grand today at 3/1. None of the other "trilaterals" will lay me a decent bet anymore including Coral, who I was defending on here not long ago. Don’t know how long this will continue, but they are top of the pops for me at the mo!

Is after-timing the ‘in thing’ at the moment?
If Bet365 were paying out on bets suggested 9 hours after the race then they’d be top of my list too.
May 24, 2009 at 04:27 #229763Why not just use Betfair?

Top points for that genius comment.

I think Carvillshill has enough kudos here for the above comment to be deemed gratuitously offensive. You really come across as bitter in the extreme these days.

Graeme, old boy. You will have to explain this a bit more to me than just the usual "this that or tother put this on once upon a time’.
Someone came on here not so long ago and said GG.com were unprofessional in terms of their ability to notify custormers of their"horses alert" running.
Again, I found this complete bullshit as GG.Com have never failed to notify me.
If you want to be seen as anything other than a spammer, please tell us what the hell your going on about with bet 365 – I have only ever found them kind and willing to take whatever mickey mouse bet I may place?
People aren’t thick beleive it or not, and can tell when someone is up for a laugh?

Have to agree with Marble I’m afraid. If I’m not using Bet365 or Betfair, then I’m not betting (ante-post excluded obviously).
May 24, 2009 at 12:21 #229796You talk sh*t Marble. How can i be a spammer when this is the first time i’ve criticised them and i’ve got 450 odd posts to my name. If you chose not to believe what i posted then that’s your perogative, i couldn’t care less.
Try putting on reverse forecasts with them and see how far you get if you’re any good at them.
May 24, 2009 at 12:28 #229798Why not just use Betfair?
Some people like to have a bet more than 10 minutes before the off.
May 24, 2009 at 12:37 #229800I phoned my brother and he said there was no restriction there anymore. There was a restriction with the number of selections he could pick for a forecast but apparently it’s been lifted.
I dunno what bookies are like with reverse forecasts because i don’t do them. I just found it funny that his account would be effected when he’s literally a two bob punter at the minute.
Some people don’t half get on there high horses about here.
May 24, 2009 at 13:02 #229804Marble,
Zarkava uses the term ‘afraid’ because, I think, it shows a nice touch of politeness and humility; which, in this day and age is quite an endearing quality about a person, I’m afraid to say.
On the other hand, to quote Zarkava in the Irish 2000 Guineas thread:
"Mastercraftsman I don’t think is anywhere near his best on a softer surface."Be not afraid, Zarkava. With analysis like that you are amongst friends.

May 24, 2009 at 14:11 #229812I’ve got an account with them aswell. If they have a better price than any other firm with my selection then i’d place it with them. I don’t really have a preference, but if someone like Stan James were offering 7/1 the same as Coral, i’d go with Stan James everytime. I prefer firms who go best odds guaranteed.
The only firm i kind of hold a grudge against is Betfair because of their claw back and kind of sh*tty customer service. The claw back dosen’t effect me, but it’s annoying to know that they take peoples money when they aren’t even laying the bet, it’s the punter who’s laying the odds. So for that reason i’d have a preference for Betdaq.

Because he is placing forecast bets, as stated in the original post, which is not an option on Betfair
Quite frankly, the tired old "Why not use Betfair" is getting a bit boring at the stage.
As DJ pointed out, unless you want to bet within 10 mins of the off-time, it’s not really feasible to "just use Betfair", nor is it feasible if you want to bet each-way or place a horse-racing accumulator (unless at SP and who wants to do that)
In addition, the high street often has better ante-post prices than Betfair, and again with an each-way option.
Betfair is not the be-all-and-end-all of bookmaking by any stretch of the imagination.
Having said that, he could bet directly into the Tote forecast pools using Betfair.
