Free Eagle was 9/1 for The Derby after winning a maiden as a 2yo.
Australia, who destroyed him today, must rate as somewhat better value at 8/1 with Ladbrokes and Paddy Power having at least won a Group 3 over 1m as a 2yo.
But he’s still got a long way to go and, for all his purple pedigree, he is the first of Ouija Board’s foals to win a pattern race. <!– s:D –>

Free Eagle was 25/1 then 20/1 after his maiden victory and kept shortening with others from that maiden winning. He only went 9/1 after Kingfisher hosed up the other evening.

Good point, but though it may look like after timing, I don’t think ANY horse should ever be single-figure odds for The Derby after winning a maiden as a 2yo.
