It is official now. Brough Scott says so in today’s 16 page Frankel souvenir tribute in the Racing Post. (No emoticons have been used in this posting -take it how you like.)

And I can`t wait for Brough Scott`s biography of Sir Henry, which believe is set for publication around March next year. I`ve got "On the Level", the original biography which was a good read, and so much water under the bridge since. I hope it will not be a too sycophantic tome, but will tell it warts and all. And I`m saying that as an ardent follower of the great man ever since I saw Wollow win the Greenham, and witnessed HRAC, as he was, physically removing one of his travelling lads from the saddling boxes at Newbury for obnoxious behaviour.

I had no idea there was such a book on the horizon Dave, many thanks for the heads-up. I can’t see Brough cowtowing at all. He strikes me as a pretty forthright individual. I’m looking forward to it myself now.
I also read ‘On The Level’ many years ago and seem to remember enjoying it.
October 24, 2012 at 20:17 #418164It was originally due out last month Hammy but Brough delayed it presumably so he would be able to finish the Frankel story. Can’t wait myself!
"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"

October 26, 2012 at 18:19 #418391Im glad he isnt running in the Breeders Cup. Even with our clocks going back tomorrow-a week before the US does-the Breeders’ Cup Mile will be run at 1140 UK time and the Classic at 1230am.
And don’t for a minute think that the American sporting public will be glued to their TVs watching Breeders’ Cup with or without Frankel.
They will be watching USC-Oregon which starts at 4pm pacific and Alabama-LSU which kicks off at 5pm. Gotta love the College Tiddylwinks (sorry football)…just the way it is 4 of the top rated teams matched up with each other right when the big races are on…

It might not get more viewers on TV, but more people would probably come to the track (and spend money at the track). That’s been the case with Zenyatta’s races.
ESPN has been actually advertising the Breeders Cup during Monday Night Football. At least they’re trying.
October 28, 2012 at 00:15 #418527One of the letter writers in the Daily Mail the other day suggested that, forget the Olympics, Frankel should be voted BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
