If there is any cut in the ground i just could not have Treasure Beach on my mind, his dam never went on it and imo he is alot better on top of the ground.
Cue the sloosh in on heavy going.lol
June 24, 2011 at 17:39 #362350I want the Queen to win for two reasons.
First; for the fun of it,She deserves a Group One with this horse. She will enjoy beating Coolmore after they beat her at Epsom.
Second; to show others that it pays to bring their horses to race in the Irish Derby. If "she" can beat Coolmore maybe "we" can too.
Thirdly; I believe that Stouty was robbed the last time he came over.So there you have it .Three, not two, reasons.June 25, 2011 at 10:25 #362431Carlton House is absolutely guaranteed. Can not state this enough. Native Khan for the forecast.
June 25, 2011 at 10:30 #362434You mean like So You Think was?
Jeez lads wake up a bit will ya, was workmanlike in the Dante and Derby there was nothing special about him whatsoever…maybe he’ll run a blinder on the soft, stiff track and win for ya, and every credit if he does, he has a chance if he stays, not a great one, just a moderate chance, and people are saying he’s guaranteed and needs to be odds on…what on earth you see in him i’ve no idea, should have been 3/1+ for the Derby and should be that here too, minimum

There are no guarantees in this game JJM.
June 25, 2011 at 20:13 #362493I think Carlton House is worth taking on at 11’10
If the ground is on the firm side of good then my bet will be Native Khan.
If it is on the soft side I think either Roderic O’Connor or Seville being a small field at best price 20’1 Roderic might be worth a small investment.June 25, 2011 at 22:05 #362510Carlton House is absolutely guaranteed. Can not state this enough. Native Khan for the forecast.

As another poster pointed out, found that out the hard way with So You Think! He is a fantastic price at 5/4! Is that ok?
June 25, 2011 at 22:18 #362516Listen, I’m not going to argue CH was beaten fair and square at Epsom. I just think he can improve on that run on this flat, galloping track and has more to offer.
It’s his to lose and I also think he should be nearer 4/6.
I’ve gone more potty than usual and had a £10 squids double with So you Think in the Eclipse.
CH will look very obvious after this race.
Zip
June 25, 2011 at 23:05 #362519As far as I’m concerned, Treasure Beach has the best form and, at 7/2, he’s a decent sort of price. Were I to do the odds, he’d probably be joint favourite with Carlton House. Still reckon he’s better than CH over this trip, though!
Another one (who, and I’ll say this now, I won’t be having any money on, but if you’re interested, why not?) who might be worth something at an e/w price is Roddy O. I’m surprised they’ve not really aimed him at longer, and it may be worth treating the French run as a bit of prep work. May well be worth something e/w or place on the exchanges.
To reiterate – Treasure Beach for me.

So don't run, just like the others always do
June 25, 2011 at 23:45 #362522Native Khan runs so obviously the ground is drying fast, Treasure Beach comes right into things.
I consider Tartan Bearer a much more solid horse than Carlton House at 1m4f and Aidan O’Brien still managed to get him beat by Frozen Fire (Tartan Bearer killed him when they next met), and this I think is an easier assignemnt to beat CH. If O’Brien makes this an out an out test I think Treasure Beach wins, Cartlon House I think has stamina issues to show cause he was fading after making such a storming run yet still couldn’t peg Treasure Beach back when it come to the nitty gritty.
And for the guy who said lay all AOB horses after they run in the Derby did he not forget that Fame And Glory was in that race he was talking about regarding Masterofthehorse.
June 26, 2011 at 07:39 #362542In the drying conditions and at the prices it is Treasure Beech for me as well. I think he is underated and his form really stacks up now.
I thought that he outstayed CH in the Derby and they wont crawl today either so stamina has to be an issue for CH.
ROC would be a danger if allowed to dominate – he is a different horse in those circumstances and Seville’s Derby run was surely too bad to be true?
TB for me though.
"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
June 26, 2011 at 08:11 #362543A interesting thread recently was ‘hype horses’. For me, Seville is just such a horse. I’m going for Treasure Beach today. Yes, he was well-ridden at Epsom but he still represents classic form and that’s good enough for me.
June 26, 2011 at 12:24 #362578I backed Memphis Tennessee without the favourite at Epsom but even with the run of the race he couldn’t beat three there so I don’t see why on slower ground he should do any better this time. Amazed at the price of Notable Graduate. For me he has shaped like he wants two miles and on form should be the complete outsider.
June 26, 2011 at 14:45 #362607Am I imagining it or was the music to The Curragh of Kildare better in previous years?
It’s not great!
June 26, 2011 at 15:06 #362610OMFG Aidan O Brien **** right off now you ******* mug.
1-2-3
Irish Derby
Stoute horses running terrible. Carlton House a paceless boat, no change of gear.

1-2 GALILEO

Bottle of Brandy now to watch Kildare vs Dublin
June 26, 2011 at 15:09 #362612[attachment=0:1iqyjorg]Aidan O Brien casual.jpg[/attachment:1iqyjorg]Treasure Beach….now has to go for the St. Leger.
Fair play Aidan you are a genius. Galway Nursieries to Irish Derbies.
YOU ARE GOD!!!!!!!!
June 26, 2011 at 15:23 #362614Had Ballydoyle wished I believe that Memphis Tennessee could have won. With Montjeu winning at Epsom they would not need Hurricaner Run to ad to his success in Ireland this year.MT looked tremendous making up ground at the end after leading from the start.I believe he is a better prospect for future Grade One races than the others.
