I like the idea of Benbatl for this, and at 20-1 each way, he’s my selection.

I may add another, and I like the prices of Romanised and Thunder Snow

I’m struggling to see past Roaring Lion, trip is ideal, can’t see the ground getting too much softer in the next 10 days.

I can’t pick one to beat him, can anyone convince me not to lump on at 11/8?!

I’m glad no one tried to convince me, 11/8 looking a nice bet now he’s a general 8/11 shot.

Sky bet boosted roaring lion / alpha cent double to 11/4 yesterday. Well it would have been rude not to :bye:

Normally this means one of them ain’t winning!

I can only assume they’re taking RL on with Study of Man? He looked really good in the French Derby and has been kept fresh for a race like this (which has been a long-term plan).

What a great finish to the race
Roaring Lion must be getting close to horse of the year
Do we know if he will be heading to the Breeders Cup…?

That was a poor Champion Stakes.

Roaring Lion ran 5 lbs below his last race and both he and Saxon Warrior were boosted by the deteriorating Deauville at 40/1 odds getting his best rating since July 2017 on Racing Post Rating. Deauville was once rated 119 on official figures but he is only 109 these days.

The race time was very slow and Saxon Warrior remains a horse who is still only 1 lb better than he ran in the Racing Post Trophy more than ten months ago.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

The race was ran in the style for a slow time steve, they tried to slow it down for a guineas style sprint at the end which nearly paid off, thats why the clock and roaring lions performance is not as good as the stats say, its worth more than face value

Murphy quite lucky that the horse got him out of trouble. Winner can be marked up as he won with something in hand.
