Elmalka might improve a little, but although not as small as Ramatuelle, she is pretty small. So would not have the physical scope to improve much more.
As races, the Jean Prat and Maurice might suit her, but I suspect some of the better physical specimens might have caught up with Ramatuelle by then. Possibly the Commonwealth Cup at a stamina 6f like Ascot? But she’ll be up against Vandeek again in that.
Value Is EverythingMay 5, 2024 at 16:37 #1693084I didn’t see that coming a furlong in, she was completely off her feet. I think the strong pace came as a culture shock to her on just her 3rd start but SDS gave her a cracking ride, needn’t have been worried about him being in the saddle. Delighted for Roger Varian too I know he’s won a couple of St Leger’s but they tend to be the easiest classic to win I think. I have to say I was very close to backing the French filly but I remembered the jockey gave Blue Rose Cen a terrible ride in the Nassau last year and although he gave Big Rock a good ride at Ascot I just worried a bit about him, maybe it was his relative lack of experience over here, maybe it was her stamina but she looked the best filly I agree with Ginge.

May 5, 2024 at 17:38 #1693093So many fancied horses ran terribly. Maybe loose ground against them. God knows what to make of it, but the French horse definitely has trained on for the justify doubters and 4th and 5th a wee bit unlucky. Ylang-ylang always looked like she needed further so surely headed to Epsom. We shall see as the season unfolds but I would bet any of the top 5 could beat each other. French horse I hope stays at a mile as looks the best horse.

Also Final Furlong, Green amd Tin man, just didn’t see that coming.See The Fire hasn’t really filled out as much as she could have, Dance Sequence stopped running ‘again’ when she hit the dip Cinderella’s’ Dream’s Meydan form didn’t stand up at this level and Tamafana looked well the paddock on her toes, shame Spencer on board. Porta Fortuna was a paddock positive.
Lots of fillys were feeling the heat particularly Darnation.Impressive run by the French filly only to find another too good for her in Group company.
Ylang Ylang won best turned out and she ran a blinding finish she looked fit and ready for a stab at the Oaks, this was not her race but she was the most impressive finisher and the one horse for me to take put of this race going forward
