Fairly high number of incidents in the first few days. I’m in work so I’m not sure if there have been more toady (hopefully not).

The track appeared fine to me, and commentators have been in agreement that there’s little that could have been done by course officials to prevent/reduce the injuries that have occured.

    It seems strange though.

    A turning track, perhaps?

I noticed in some footage today of the horses after the line, so looking at them from behind, there was a lot of turf kicked-up, looked like soft ground rather than good dry ground. I wonder if the top few inches of soil are loose, maybe not well knitted with roots. That would maybe cause horses to lose footing or slip and hence injuries.
