Hi there, I’m new here but I figured this would be the best place to ask for help! I’m trying to find out what happened to the following horses, all I know is that they are confirmed to have died via Racing Post, the month and also that they either raced in the UK or Ireland. I run a memorial group on facebook ( In Memory Of Our Racehorses) for people to post tributes to any horses that they have died and whilst I have added these to the list, it would be great to have more details on what have happened to them.

These horses are all confirmed to have died either in the UK or in Ireland. But I was wondering if anyone can clarify what happened to them and also any dates.

January:

Rose Hip (IRE)
Seige Of Ennis (IRE)

February:

Dulce Domum (GB)
Supreme Platinum (IRE)
What A Riddle (IRE)
Bayross (GB)
Castlewellan (IRE)
BMyHero (IRE)
Climate Control (IRE)
Coat Of Arms (IRE)
Congenial Gent (IRE)
Curragh Grove (IRE)
Darkie Finn (IRE)
Denim Bleu (IRE)
Directa King (GER)
Hundred Percent (IRE)
Hurts So Good (IRE)
Jered (IRE)
Johnee Joblot (IRE)
Lundgren (GER)
Manavic (IRE)
Oran Climate (IRE)
Polamalu (IRE)
Roamanob (IRE)
Silver Bunny (IRE)
Total Pleasure (IRE)
Untraceable (IRE)
Use Your Illusion (IRE)

March:

Ask A Friend (IRE)
Dahra One (IRE)
Easi On The Eye (IRE)
Hidden Lane (IRE)
Ironchest (IRE)
Magic Word (USA)
Peggy Dell (IRE)
Rahan De Marcigny (FR)
Wild Cat Mountain (IRE)

If anyone has any information I would be so grateful!

Not sure really. I checked the animal aid website for the two GB ones you mentioned for February, but neither are listed. Animal Aid don’t always pick them up though, but they do provide some details although pretty basic.

For Irish runners I can only suggest trying http://www.irishracing.com and going back through their reports/results to see what you can find. However, Irish are even worse than RP for telling people when a horse has passed away so I wouldn’t hold out much hope.

If you go to the bottom of the racehorse death watch page at http://www.animalaid.org.uk there is another memorial site which you can get to by clicking on the link. It’s mostly US horses, but there are other countries as well and it does provide information on how they died.

If you go on the following link it does each week give you a list of the horses that have been declared as passing away in Ireland.

IIRC Jered died of colic

Thanks for the HRI link Grey Desire, very informative. Does anyone know if there is similar available for the UK?

Some of these horses appear to have the same connections and no obvious injury noted so I would hazard a guess that they did not meet their ends on the racetrack but their demise may possibly be linked to the awful economic climate in Ireland at present.
