The Midnight Club @ 15/8 (William Hill)
€100 win
Fully expect him to improve past Siegemaster. I don’t think he was fully wound up for the Thyestes. That much is clear from the jockey bookings that day.
February 23, 2011 at 12:02 #341827Champion Hurdle
Hurricane Fly @ 11/2 (Stan James 4 places)
€300 e/w
I couldn’t pass up this four places offer any longer. I just can’t have four horses finishing ahead of Hurricane Fly on the day. I don’t see why so many people are willing to put a line through him. He has done everything that’s been asked of him and I don’t think travelling or the track itself will be a problem. People will point to the horses he’s beaten in his career but he has beaten the likes of Solwhit and Go Native with absolute ease on countless occasions. Neither Binocular or Peddlers Cross were overly impressive in their respective trials and I’m not sure Menorah’s form is as strong as some people are making out.

Won’t be available to post here at the weekedn but will be backing the following should they run:
3:20 Navan (Friday)
Last Instalment @ SP
€150 win
2:35 Navan (Saturday)
For Bill @ SP

2:20 Leopardstown (Sunday)
Sir Des Champs @ SP

Sir Des Champs: N/R
Waaheb: +€66.67
P/L: +€998.19
Much reduced SPs on For Bill and Waaheb due to the N/Rs in their respective races. I’ve been waiting for Last Instalment over jumps all winter and he didn’t disappoint. He’s going to be a hell of a prospect over fences next season.

Belle Brook @ 4/6 (Paddy Power)
€150 win
Looks head and shoulders above the rest of these mares. A reproduction of her run when she shook up Our Girl Salley will more than suffice here. I’m willing to forgive her run at Clonmel where she simply couldn’t go with Tommy Stack’s filly who is now under consideration for the Supreme Novices at Cheltenham. There’s nothing of that class in this field.
March 5, 2011 at 12:06 #3433321:50 Gowran Park
Rathlin @ 13/8 (Victor Chandler)
€100 win
I can’t understand why Sicilian Secret is shorter in the market. Rathlin would have won here the last day but for a mistake at the final flight and he’ll have come on a bit for that run.
