If it was a tribute to anyone it would be Jerry Lee Lewis and most certainly NOT Justin Lee Collins!…he’s about as funny as Russell Howard telling Lenny Henry jokes.

I appreciate things have gone seriously downhill ever since but Flipside was certainly funnier than anything JLL ever did!

Really good write up on the National; the first mention from Cloudy Lane from anyone so far, I think. As I heard last year that the McCains had booked a room for Cloudy Lane’s lass because ‘when her horse wins she will be too drunk to go home’ I, too have had to have another bet on him this year! Welcome, Adam. Strange how us normally pessimistic midlanders are so optimistic when it comes to backing horses in big handicaps…..

Smethwick unfortunately…being from near West Brom yourself you’ll know why I said unfortunately!
Smethwick; not as bad as Hockley. Think they even had to rename Hockley after I left to ‘Newtown’. They filmed Cathy Come Home in the next street to us! It was grim in those days…..
I remember watching that in Sixth Form.
Yeah, Newtown rings a bell…..still can’t be as bad as Cape Hill or Lozells.

Best of luck everyone with giving the bookies a bashing today. I had a nightmare last night that Pricewise was going to half the prices on my selections….but as someone once said ‘2 out of 3 aint bad’….what an idiot – wish I’d have taken the prices!
